The gym is normally my happy place.

However last week I really struggled with all my workouts, hormones played a big part of this, my b***s were sore. I had a headaches through the week, my energy levels were just really low. Quite frankly, I had a complete week of wishing I was anywhere but the gym.

So I dropped my weights. I kept the consistency and I powered through the week.

Roll on the last 48 hours, sore b***s have gone, headaches pretty much gone and energy levels feel like they're back to normal.

Headed to the gym today and managed to get three new PB with my leg day exercises. It just goes to show that sometimes we just need to stay the course, keep the consistency, and also be a little kind to ourselves. Not every workout has to be at our Max.

We had the pleasure of being outside for Mondays Mens Pilates session last night. A few of the guys admitted it was the first time they had managed to get some fresh air yesterday.

The power of the great outdoors has been researched time and time again to prove it is so important for our mental health, I'm Just hoping this weather continues long into the summer to be able to able to make this a weekly event.

These girls rocked it today - a little bit of rain you say?? Phaw!

Working on triceps and core in this bent over straight arm row.
Why not grab a band and give it a go at home.

Remember engage pelvic floor and core, hinge from the hips, keep chest and chin lifted. Arms straight. Tail bone lifted!

If returning to exercise post baby: Try 2 sets of 6 to begin with. You may feel this working your lower back muscles as they help to hold pose. That's ok!!

Try some pelvic tilts on all fours to help release tension in the lower back.

The class is a nice mix of strength work, stretches and releases. Each week we have a quick check in to see if there are any changes with your pregnancy which need to be accommodated within the class. This is also an opportunity for me to teach about the changes happening to your body during pregnancy and how they impact your body.

The 7 week course is accompanied by online videos for you to use through the term should you miss a class or want to practice in your own time at home.

This class uses the birthing ball and bands.

There is no other life event which impacts the body greater than Pregnancy, the changes happening to our bodies during this time and after will have long term impact on our bodies. It is a time in our lives as women to invest in some self care and Pregnancy Pilates is a great way to start.

You do not need to have any experience of Pilates in the past, we combine the birthing ball, bands and mat work to help keep you comfortable through your pregnancy, prepare you for delivery and help strengthen your body to care for your baby upon delivery.

The class is a nice mix of strength work, stretches and releases. Each week we have a quick check in to see if there are any changes with your pregnancy which need to be accommodated within the class.
