Maybe you walk into a room and someone barely glances your way⌠and your brain instantly goes:
âOh no. Theyâre annoyed. Iâve said something wrong. They donât like me.â đŹ
But what if I told you, itâs not you, itâs your trauma brain?
When weâve been through emotional pain, our nervous system gets rewired for protection. It becomes a little too good at scanning for threat⌠and a lot less skilled at seeing things clearly.
đ Your brain starts reading neutral or even friendly faces as dangerous.
đ Your ventral vagal pathway, the part that helps you feel calm and connected, goes offline.
đ You end up filtering the present through the lens of past pain.
đ And you miss out on connection, because your brainâs too busy trying to keep you safe.
This is what trauma does, it distorts our perception so weâre reacting to old wounds, not current reality.
The good news?
đ Your nervous system can be rewired.
đ You can feel safe, connected, and calm in your body again.
đ You can learn to trust yourself and others without going into hyper-alert mode.
This is the work I do with my clients, helping them release old patterns, calm their nervous systems, and reconnect with who they really are underneath all that overprotection.

⨠Not All Trauma Looks the Same â¨
When people hear the word âtrauma,â they often think of the big, obvious events, abuse, accidents, loss, or disasters.
Thatâs what we call Big T Trauma. Major, overwhelming events that shock the system and leave a lasting impact.
But hereâs what most people donât realiseâŚ
Thereâs also small t trauma, the subtle, everyday experiences that may seem minor to others but deeply affect your nervous system, your beliefs, and your sense of self.
Things like:
đ Feeling unseen or unheard as a child
đ Being constantly compared or criticised
đ˘ Carrying the pressure to be perfect
𼺠Never feeling emotionally safe or validated
These experiences build up over time, and often create patterns like people-pleasing, overthinking, low self-worth, a feeling of not being good enough or anxiety.
Trauma isnât about how âbigâ the event was⌠itâs about how it made you feel, and whether you had support to heal.
The good news?
⨠Both big and small trauma can be cleared, reframed, and released.
⨠You donât have to stay stuck in patterns that started from old wounds.
⨠Your healing is valid, no matter how small it may seem to others.
