Elite football generates billions, while grassroots clubs are still fundraising for basic equipment, fighting for pitches and paying rising facility fees.
The game starts at grassroots level. It deserves a fairer share of the investment.
Do you agree — should more money from professional football and taxation be directed back into the community game? 👇

If young players are scared of making mistakes, they’ll eventually stop taking risks.
They’ll choose the safe pass.
Hide from the ball.
Stop trying something different.
Mistakes are part of learning. They’re how confidence, creativity and decision-making develop.
We can’t demand brave football while creating an environment where every error is criticised.
Let them try.
Let them fail.
Let them learn.
That’s development. ⚽

Coaching grassroots football is rarely just 90 minutes on a Sunday.
It’s planning sessions, sorting teams, answering messages, managing expectations and giving up hours every week.
You won’t get every decision right. Constructive feedback is fair.
But constant criticism from the sidelines can wear down even the most committed volunteer.
To every coach who keeps turning up for the kids — thank you. 👏

Three players grounded after a sleepover… and suddenly the whole match is off. 😬
The opposition are annoyed. The league aren’t happy. Teammates miss out too.
But should football be protected from punishments at home, or is missing the match a fair consequence?
What would you do as a parent? 👇

The match is over. They don’t need a full analysis on the walk back to the car.
Ask what they enjoyed. Praise the effort. Talk about one thing they can try next time.
They probably already know about the missed chance or the mistake.
Sometimes the best thing a parent can say is:
“I loved watching you play.”
What do you usually say after the final whistle? 👇

Talent helps.
But attitude is what takes a young player further.
Listening. Taking feedback. Owning mistakes. Trying again.
Those habits matter far more than being the best player on the pitch at eight, ten or twelve years old.
Parents and coaches — would you rather have the most talented player, or the most coachable one? 👇

The midfielder.
Always showing for the ball.
Always helping out at both ends.
Always somehow still running in the final minute.
They might not always get the goals or the headlines — but when they play well, the whole team plays well. ⚽💚

🎒 That’s it… the school bags are packed away.
Now it’s time for late-night kickabouts, tournaments, holidays, muddy boots swapped for flip-flops (for a few weeks at least! 😉) and making memories with friends and family.
Whether you’re a player, coach, referee or football parent, we hope you get the chance to slow down, recharge and enjoy every moment.
Before we know it, pre-season will be here!

They’re not just learning how to pass, tackle and compete.
They’re learning confidence. Resilience. Teamwork. Leadership.
Football gives girls lessons that last far beyond the final whistle. ⚽💚
