Happy Monday folks.

We enter Gin and Beer Festival week off the back of a very busy weekend at Stand. We have 5 senior mens matches and the ladies kicked off their season with a start/stop game at Stand on Sunday morning where Golborne CC took the points. The ladies showed great depth in the bowling line up with wickets from Afiyah, Geena, Lucy and Zoe.

Back to Saturday, both games were rain effected, with the 1s eventually abandoning their match against Greenfield posting 133/3. The 2s were victorious at Worsley posting 193/4 against Worsley's 137 all out. DLS came into effect giving Worsley a revised target of 164 of 29 overs.

Sunday was cup day for two of the mens senior teams. Greenfield 2nd XI chasing down our 2s to knock Stand 2nd XI out of the cup. At Shaw, a young development Stand CC 3rd team (three U13s played) were given a tough time in the field as Shaw posted 324/5. Stand were all out just before the heavens opened for 68.

George Tasker took 3 catches across the weekend, Thomas Dean made his senior debut, and Max Grogan took his 1st senior wicket in his second game (posting very impressive bowling figures of 1/17 off 5 overs).

Players will enjoy a full programme of cricket activities, focusing on core skills including:

Open to boys and girls aged 8–15.
£30 per day or £120 for all week.

Unfortunately, Saturday’s 1st and 2nd XI matches were rained off, with all teams getting two points on the board.

On Sunday, our 3s lost to Egerton CC. Which included a senior cricket debut for one of our U13s, as well as Zoe Rees from our Ladies team. Solid first effort all around!
