If Manchester City were ultimately stripped of Premier League titles as a consequence of the 115 charges — purely hypothetically — the winners could look VERY different. 👀🏆

🔴 2018/19 — Liverpool

THAT WOULD MEAN:

🏆 Manchester United +3 titles

And Arsenal would suddenly have back-to-back Premier League titles added to their history. 😳

Of course, none of this has happened and the legal process remains ongoing. But just imagine the scenes if the history books really did have to be rewritten…

🚨 𝗠𝗔𝗡 𝗖𝗜𝗧𝗬’𝗦 𝟭𝟭𝟱 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗥𝗚𝗘𝗦: 𝗛𝗔𝗦 𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗘 𝗙𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗬 𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗨𝗣? 👀

Reports claim an independent tribunal has reached decisions in Manchester City’s long-running 115 charges case, with the majority of the charges reportedly found to have been proven.

Sky Sports News understands that the case is now moving towards the appeal stage.

The Premier League has declined to comment, with the process remaining private and confidential. Manchester City continue to maintain their innocence and insist the process is ongoing, while referring back to their previous statement that they have respected the process and due process.

For years, United fans have watched City dominate English football while questions surrounding the club’s financial conduct have hung over their success.

THE CHARGES INCLUDE:

🔴 54 — Failure to provide accurate financial information
🔴 35 — Failure to cooperate with Premier League investigations
🔴 14 — Failure to provide accurate details regarding player and manager payments
🔴 7 — Breaches of Profitability and Sustainability Rules
🔴 5 — Failure to comply with UEFA rules, including Financial Fair Play

If these reports are accurate, this could be a huge development in one of the biggest cases English football has ever seen.

As United fans, we obviously want our biggest rivals to be held accountable if wrongdoing is ultimately proven. No club should be above the rules, no matter how successful, powerful or wealthy they are.

Now let the process finish.

And if the charges are proven after all appeals… then let the consequences follow.

Carlos Baleba is making good progress as he works towards his Manchester United debut. 🇨🇲

The summer signing from Brighton has been working hard to regain full fitness after arriving at Old Trafford with an injury, and Michael Carrick expects him to be available after the upcoming international break.

“Yeah, he definitely will be. He'll be back in and around the group at some point over the next week or so. So that means, after the internationals, he should be in good shape.”

Carrick is clearly excited to finally have Baleba available, especially with a hectic spell coming up that includes successive Champions League away games.

“You know he's come and, with being injured, then he's desperate to get out there and be part of the group and training fully with the boys. And I've said before, he's obviously a quality player. It's why we brought him here and he balances off the dynamics of the midfield particularly.”

Pro Ref has admitted that an error was made in the decision to allow Erling Haaland’s winning goal during Manchester City’s 1-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Haaland’s goal was initially ruled out for offside on the pitch, but VAR overturned the decision and awarded the goal.

Pro Ref has now acknowledged that VAR should have recommended an on-field review because of Enzo Fernández’s position during the attack.

ℹ️ Their spokesperson said:

“Following the incident in the 60th minute of Sunday's Premier League fixture between Manchester United and Manchester City at Old Trafford, we can provide clarification regarding Erling Haaland's awarded goal."

“The on-field decision was offside against Erling Haaland - that was checked by VAR and he was found to be in an onside position."

“In the same attack, it was established that Enzo Fernandez did not play the ball and therefore that makes any offside offence subjective, however, on this occasion, the VAR did not recognise the likely impact of his position and should have recommended an on-field review."

“Contact has been made with Manchester United this evening to acknowledge what we deem is an error of judgement. A review of the incident will take place.”

ℹ️ So United have now received an acknowledgement that the VAR process should have been handled differently.

The big question is… would the goal have stood if the referee had been sent to the monitor? 👀

“It’s so GLARINGLY obvious that Enzo is offside and he tries to touch the ball. End of story."

“This is really bad officiating because Manchester United have to lick their wounds due to a howler from the VAR."

“IT'S UNBELIEVABLE.”

ℹ️ And honestly, while Owen is right that Enzo was clearly offside when he tried to play the ball, I’m not sure how much sympathy United deserve.

Yes, the VAR decision was a howler. Yes, it should have been ruled out.

But we had more than an hour against 10 men at Old Trafford and still couldn’t find a way to beat them.

If we were truly on top of the game, we should have taken advantage of the extra man and put the result beyond any controversial decision.

Instead, City defended, held on and denied us the goals we needed.

The VAR mistake can be criticised, but United also need to look at themselves.

You can’t blame VAR for everything when you fail to beat 10 men for over an hour at your own stadium. 🔴

Despite having an extra man, the Reds haven't created enough to really punish City, who have managed to hold on to a goalless draw at the break.

Benjamin Šeško described Manchester United’s 4-0 Champions League win over Sabah as the perfect way to return to Europe’s biggest competition.

“It was perfect for everyone, especially our fans. It means a lot to them, especially to see so many goals. I think it was great for us in general to give us more motivation for the upcoming games.”

Šeško also grabbed his second goal in as many appearances, calmly finishing to make it 3-0.

On the goal, he explained:

“I saw him [goalkeeper Stas Pokatilov] rushing out and I was quite overjoyed to take the ball away from him to make the goal a little bit easier. Of course, I’m happy.”

The Slovenian also highlighted the importance of having four different goalscorers on the night.

“I think it’s important, especially when everyone can score a goal, it’s very important. I hope for many games like that.”

“Definitely, the confidence boost here is definitely big. Now, it’s important to recover very well and obviously focus on the derby.”

Michael Carrick has been full of praise for Youri Tielemans and the growing understanding within Manchester United’s midfield.

Asked whether Tielemans is the type of midfield technician United have been missing, Carrick highlighted the quality of all four midfielders who featured and their ability to move the ball forward through passing, running and dribbling.

“Youri has settled in fantastically, Andrey [Santos]’s settled in great. We're asking Mason [Mount] to do slightly different things from what he may have done in the past.”

But Carrick had a special message for Tielemans:

“Every game he’s getting better. You can see the connections and understanding between each other is growing all the time.”

Tielemans already looks increasingly comfortable in the United midfield. 🔴🇧🇪
