The 37-year-old, who is based out of Thorpe Hall Golf Club, fired rounds of 66, 64, 69 and an incredible final round 62 to lift the Swiss Challenge on -23 at Golf Sempach.

Southgate has over 300 DP World starts to his name and with nine top ten finishes already on the HotelPlanner Tour, he was pleased to get over the line for his maiden title.
“I played exactly how you would dream of playing,” he said. “I wanted to get off to a hot start, I felt very comfortable this morning.
“I was so focused on my own game, I didn’t really look at any leaderboard until the big one at the back of the 11th green, I expected to be in front and when I saw I was five in front, I didn’t know how to respond to it, I’ve never been in that position many times in my career.
“I’m immensely proud. There are so many people I should be thanking. A lot of people around the world know how much I love this game.”

Perception is a skill that can be trained. It’s how our brain makes sense of what it sees . The reason players often struggle to hit putts on line consistently can be explained by their ability to match up perception with true straight. The best players in the world have incredible perception due to how often they practice. Training perception can take many sessions and should be rechecked weekly.
Steve Means .. Excellent to have collegiate golfer back from the USA for a training session ahead of Qualifying.
With a strong run of results behind him and qualifying fast approaching, this was the ideal opportunity to undertake a detailed assessment of his putting performance. Today’s work focused on advanced data collection, benchmarking skill development, refining green-reading processes, enhancing speed control, and establishing clear Strokes Gained performance targets.
The session was demanding, but high-level performance requires high-level standards. Every element was challenged, measured, and held accountable to the level required to compete at the highest level.
The objective is clear, and the work continues.
