Our Wildcats girls played their first ever match at the weekend! 🤩🤩🤩

The girls showed incredible teamwork, determination and confidence against FC Bluestar - scoring FOUR fantastic goals! ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️

The game finished with a penalty shootout which saw plenty of excitement and some super saves! 🙌

Most importantly, every player went home with a big smile and a sense of achievement 🤍🖤

This was just the beginning for these young Griffins - the first match, the first memories, the first step on what we hope will be an enjoyable football journey together.

Well done girls! You did us proud 💪

Hough End Griffins Presentation Day 2026 🏆

On 6 June, our Griffins family came together at St Margarets Centre to celebrate another fantastic season.

We recognised players across every team with Players’ Player, Coach’s Player and Special Awards, while our younger Griffins received participation awards for their hard work and dedication throughout the season.

A huge congratulations to Hassan (U13s), our Griffin of the Year! Despite a serious knee injury last year, Hassan continued to support his teammates and showed incredible resilience and commitment on his return to football – a true example of our club values and a deserved winner of the award 🖤🤍

During the Chairman’s speech we took the opportunity to thank our outgoing committee members and U18s players for their commitment and dedication to the club over the years, and to welcome our new committee.

The day was packed with fun, including games, a raffle, a bouncy castle and the ever-popular Soak the Coach! 💦

Thanks to the amazing support of our community, we raised over £1,500 for club development, helping us invest in coaching, equipment, facilities, leagues, tournaments and new opportunities for our players.

Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, donated and helped make the day such a success. Here’s to an even bigger and better season when we return from the summer break! ⚽️

If you’re interested in getting involved in the club - as a volunteer, coach or sponsor - you can contact us at [email protected]. And you can donate to the club using the link in our bio 🙏

Albert Mills - Hough End Griffins alumni - plays and scores for England! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 ⚽️

The Manchester Utd U18 and U21 defender recently represented England U18 twice in the space of a week - both in the 2-1 win against Greece, and then coming on to score the fourth goal in the 6-1 win over Cyprus!

Albert began his football career at Hough End Griffins and to say we are immensely proud of him is an understatement! 🤩

Hough End Griffins JFC provides a safe, welcoming environment for young players to enjoy their football, build confidence and develop lifelong skills.

Will your child be the next Albert Mills? If you’re interested in joining the club you can contact us at [email protected]

This is Yaw - our Community Development Officer and volunteer parent coach.

As a community-led club we are dedicated to promoting participation through accessible and inclusive grassroots football. Led by Yaw, we are working closely with South Manchester communities to build on existing relationships and foster new ones.

Last night the Club’s coaches and parents came together at for an eagerly anticipated football match organised by Yaw to see who has still ‘got it’! It was a brilliant turnout with 24 players for each team! ⚽️

Strong referees were required to ensure that the game didn’t boil over given the bragging rights at stake. Some excellent football was on display and one team of coaches prevailed! Their prize?
Silent sidelines (ie no coaching from the sidelines by the parents) until the rematch!

The debrief at ensured everyone went home friends 🖤🤍

Thanks for organising this Yaw - we’re looking forward to the rematch!

All roles at Hough End Griffins are undertaken by volunteers - if you’re interested in getting involved - as a coach or in any other way - you can contact us at [email protected]

Incoming Chair Tom Westcott met up with one of the founders of the Club - Coach Peza - at training on Tuesday night.

The pair talked about the history of the Club and the origins of the black and white striped kit representing and celebrating the diversity within the Club - demonstrating the importance placed on inclusivity ever since the formation of the Griffins back in 2005 and still clear today 🖤🤍

They also discussed plans for the future whilst keeping true to the founding values of the Club.

Great to see you Coach Peza!

On bank holiday Monday 4th May we took our Hough End Griffins U7’s to play in a tournament at Fleetwood Town’s Highbury Stadium.

One team finished second in their Group but unfortunately were beaten in the semi final, and the other team got to the final before being narrowly defeated.

The boys have come on brilliantly this year and it’s great for them to have the experience of playing at a football stadium.

We’re very proud of them all! 🤍🖤
