The current record belongs to David Gaskell, who debuted at 16 years, 19 days — a mark that’s stood for nearly 70 years.

JJ turns 16 on Oct 6, 2026, meaning if he gets minutes in Aug or Sept 2026, he’d officially become the youngest player in Manchester United history.

I expect him to make his debut next season — Remember his name! 🌟

Éderson and Mateus Fernandes both bring exactly what Manchester United need in midfield: energy, ball-carrying, duel-winning ability and composure under pressure.

Éderson would cost around £45 million, while Mateus Fernandes is valued at close to £80 million.

Mateus may have the higher ceiling, but at nearly double the price, Éderson looks like the smarter deal.

If United are prepared to spend £80 million on a midfielder, it should be for an established elite talent such as Sandro Tonali or Aurélien Tchouaméni.

Either way, both would look very good in red.

So what exactly is the plan? Develop him for another club while we continue giving minutes to underperforming senior players?

If Shea Lacey was at Barcelona, he’d already be integrated into the first team. At United, we’d rather ship him out and hope he comes back good enough.
