๐ SATURDAY REVIEW ๐
2nd XI away at Prestbury on a beautiful sunny day. Best performance of the season with the bat posting 215/5 with Tom Newton hitting a faultless 60* after the foundations were put in by Mark Baker(sponsored by Brendan Pattison & Son Ltd.) with 72 and Shawn Bahlmann with 32. Unfortunately the bowling didnโt quite match the batting and they fell to defeat by four wickets.
1st XI were at home against top of the table Holmes Chapel and after George Ridings took 2/31 as the visitors posted 211/4, we fell well short in the run chase, Saqib Qadeer top scoring with 23.

JUNIOR ROUND-UP:
U15s - v Cheadle: Wrong end of a close game, losing in the final over. Batted first with significant contributions from Robert (36 retired, sponsored by Brendan Pattison & Son) and Jack (26), led to us finishing on 114/6. We struggled to take wickets in reply, losing by 7 wickets.
v New Mills: A game where we struggled to score, Lloyd (21no) top contributor with bat. A physically bigger New Mills team were able to reach our total of 73/5 inside 13 overs. Toby making best use of the conditions to return bowling figures of 2-5.
U13s - v Chapel: An excellent win. Ruben R pick of bowlers with 4-4. Chasing 56, we had steady start, with just 10 needed from final pair. Result never in doubt as Toby (20 from 12) and Reuben S (44 from 14) smashed 69 in 4 overs.
v New Mills: A loss on a very sticky wicket. We gave ourselves an uphill task when losing 15 wickets whilst batting. Patrick top scorer with 23. We managed 11 in reply, Ewan with best figures of 3-7 & Isaac took 3 catches.
v Sale: Despite a strong start, dropped catches & extras allowed Sale to post 130 all out. In reply we couldnโt keep up with the rate - Reuben S (22), Ben (15 - sponsored by GrassrootsPay) and Toby (12no) only ones to reach double figures. Closing on 99/5, losing by 31 runs.
U11s (Sponsored by Stopfordian) - v Buxworth: A good win in a competitive game. Everyone contributed in a team effort. Final result was win by 24 runs.
v Marple: A win by 5 runs in a tight, low-scoring game. Patrick pick of batters with 7, Miles pick of bowlers with 3 wickets.
v Stockport: Yet another win! Restricting them to 242 despite only taking 6 wickets left us with a comfortable chase. Zac (26) top-scored in reply.
U9s - v Charlesworth: Another game for our youngest age group, with lots of wickets, runs & great fielding on show. Great fun & the team were very pleased with their first win!
