Weapons of Wing Chun Seminar 2026
Well done to everyone who attended our weapons of Wing Chun seminar in Harrogate, it was a great turnout. Thank you for all your messages saying how much you enjoyed it. Thanks again to all my advanced students who helped with the tuition on the day. This year is my 35th year of teaching Wing Chun and our club is still going strong. To all my students thank you all for your continued support.

Great week of training & celebrations for Chinese New Year, the year of the fire horse in our Wing Chun children’s, beginners and intermediate classes last week. Apologies to my advanced class forgot to take some pics. Got too many pictures of you lot anyway 😀.
Keep up the good work everyone and see you all this week.

Happy New Year!!
The Wood Snake (2025): Represented internal work, wisdom, and careful strategy. It was a time for "shedding old skins"—releasing outdated habits, relationships, and identities that no longer fit.
The Fire Horse (2026): Symbolises outward momentum, passion, and independence. While the Snake year was about planning, the Horse year is about ex*****on and running toward goals with newfound speed and confidence.

Children’s Mental Health Week
9th - 15th February 2026
The theme for 2026 is ‘This is My Place’ and the aim of the week is to encourage a sense of belonging – in friendships, in school, and in our communities.
When we feel that we belong, it helps us feel connected to one another and also empowers us to go out into the world and create positive change.
Mental health for children refers to their social, emotional, and behavioural wellbeing, influencing how they think, feel, act, and manage emotions.
It involves building confidence, forming healthy relationships, and coping with challenges. Good mental health helps children learn, play, and thrive in their daily lives.

Chinese New Year Celebrations!!
It was a great class on Saturday as we celebrated Chinese New Year. Everyone worked hard and as you can see we had a bit of fun too. All students received a Chinese New Year gift. It was really good to see new students joining our Young Dragons class. Since we opened up the option for new students to join the Saturday morning class It has been an amazing response. Unfortunately the Saturday morning class is now full. Hopefully there will be two new classes starting very soon on Tuesdays 6.30pm - 7.30pm & Wednesdays 5.45pm - 6.45pm. Names are being taken now for these two new classes. From 2025 all Young Dragons classes are for age group 10 - 14 years. If you would like more information please do not hesitate to contact us.

Children’s Mental Health Week
3rd - 9th February 2025
This year's theme, know yourself, grow yourself, encourages children and young people to use self-awareness to understand themselves and their emotions. This skill can help children build resilience, which can help them to manage whatever life throws at them.
