2025 TIMETABLE 💪🏻🥊
We’re very happy to announce this new timetable at 0161 Community Gym. After speaking to people we’ve taken the decision to add many more kids boxing classes on more days so we can offer the sessions to more and more people.
We’ve also been lucky to get some small funding from Salix Homes which means we can offer a FREE adults Calisthenics class on a Friday.
So for anyone that wants to begin, carry on or enhance their fitness / martial arts journey get in touch with us!

We’re still raising money for the gym at the moment, if anyone can chuck in a few quid it makes a big difference to us all, will be going towards new boxing bags and some renovations inside!

“To have somewhere that is not just a gym but a community space as well where people can come and learn a new sport, carry on a sport they are already doing, do some fitness at a price and a place that is accessible to everyone.
We have a lot of people that come every week and are really committed to it and you can see the change in them and how much of a difference it makes to some people that maybe don’t do any other sport or any other activities.
If there’s something lacking or something people need, we’ll look to provide that. The whole point is that we’re here to support the people that live around here as well so if there is something that they want to offer or want to see, then we would be more than happy to facilitate it.”

“To me, the space is massive, so if we can put things in place to make it as flexible as possible, then that obviously makes a big difference.”
Irrelevant of the level of refurbishment, Joe is insistent that the prices will remain low in an era of difficult cost of living.
“If people can’t afford it, we just do a kind of pay as you feel, pay as you can motto and ethos, because that is what we feel is right, and you know, times are difficult and times are tough.
“Anyone that wants to pay more, that’s also absolutely fine, we take donations but the point is that everyone can kind of access it, so we try and keep the classes as cheap as possible.”
However, with any business, Joe noted the struggle to be sustainable with the nature of the gym and urged that further donations be needed to improve the space.
“That’s difficult [staying open]. We look for grants and funding and donations, and from the new year, we’re going to reach out to local businesses and organisations,” Joe stated.
“If they can help us with smaller donations of twenty, fifty, hundred pounds a month, it means that we would then be able to offer out more classes, do more classes for free.
“If companies or organisations want to donate every month, we can offer those classes for free, and then it benefits the whole community as well.
“We’re offering fitness and support for people, not only for their physical health but for their mental health, and that in turn is better for everyone and all the people and places around it.”

We're raising money for more equipment and some needed refurbs inside our space so we can continue with our accessible and cheap classes for all!
Anything you can give is massively appreciated from us all and means we can continue to empower and encourage our young people in Salford.
