You probably already know what’s good for your health.

It’s the obvious things you aren’t doing, compounded over time, that move the needle the most:

Going to bed earlier.
Managing stress.
Getting more steps in.
Drinking less alcohol.
Eating more protein.
Cooking your meals instead of grabbing a meal deal.
Saying no.
Getting outside more.

Just to name a few.

Most people don’t need more information.

They just need to lock down the basics.

Your mindset towards health should be like a piece of software running quietly in the background, constantly nudging you towards the choices most aligned with your long-term wellbeing.

Not always.

Just most of the time.

It’s another thing we have to consciously balance in modern society.

Convenience has stripped movement from our lives. Technology is stripping away connection.

We’re more connected than ever, yet many of us feel more isolated than ever.

The system isn’t designed to prioritise your health, your attention, or your relationships.

It’s up to us to fight.

Talk to people. Look up. Leave the headphones at home occasionally. Put yourself in places where conversations can happen.

We readily accept that training, nutrition and sleep are pillars of health.

I think connection belongs in that conversation too.

Does anyone else like a likkle peppie tea and read before bed or is it just me? 🫖📖

How you treat your body right now probably won’t show up for 10-20 years.

You’re built different in your 20s. You can train hard, recover quickly, stay out late, eat less than perfectly, and often get away with it. But that doesn’t mean you should.

Use this decade to build the strongest foundation possible. Get strong. Build muscle, improve your fitness, learn how to sleep well, understand nutrition, and develop habits that support your physical and mental health.

These things compound over time. And if you can get them right now, you’ll spend far less time trying to fix problems later.

Trust me, your future self will thank you for it.

I dunno if this is me or a millennial thing, but I’m so bad at documenting my life and I’m okay with that.

A few recent bits from behind the fitness scenes that still involved lots of fitness things 🤣 because it’s just part of life.

Most people know they need to be consistent.

But consistency alone doesn’t guarantee results.

It’s all too easy to:
Chase trending exercises.
Change your plan before it’s had time to work.
Go through the motions without intention.
Swerve the hard reps.
Skip the meals.

But when you’re trying to make lasting change,
the details matter.

I ain’t joking when I say I’m jealous of people just getting started in the gym.

When it starts to click…you feel healthier, you see your body changing, and you catch the bug.

You actually want to train, it’s exciting!

I was 16 or 17 when it happened to me. Me and my best mate, training at an old-school bodybuilding gym called Flex, proper gritty, smelly gaff. Full of local characters.

We weren’t even training to look good initially, we were trying to beef ourselves up after getting the s**t kicked out of us by some mean bigger boys.

We were full of enthusiasm but lacking knowledge and guidance.

Those first few years of training can raise the ceiling of what’s possible - if you get them right.

If you’re just starting out now…you’ve got an opportunity.

Here’s some advice I wish I’d had to help you maximise what’s possible for you.
