Half the ā€œhealthyā€ foods in your kitchen are why you’re stuck

Granola, smoothie bowls, nut butter, trail mixes

A normal bowl of granola is 500+ cals and nobody measures it,

Two spoons of nut butter is 200 and you don’t notice it happening

Which is the exact problem.

None of it is bad. It’s just calorie dense and extremely easy to overeat

But here’s what actually messes people up though...

When a food has a health halo, your brain stops counting it.

You’d never blindly eat a handful of sweets without feeling off

But you’ll free pour olive oil and graze trail mix all afternoon because it feels clean

Lean comes down to total calories and not whether something is ā€œclean.ā€

Healthy doesn’t mean lean

It means it probably won’t kill you

Which is a completely different thing.

The boring stuff at the bottom of that list is boring for a reason.

You physically cannot overeat chicken and potatoes the way you can granola.

That’s why it works, it makes the maths easy.

Fix the calories first, and everything else follows.
