Here are three reflection exercises I often recommend to my coaching clients. These are great for leaders, managers, and even entire teams:
1️⃣ The ‘5 Whys’: Dig deep by asking “why” 5 times on a problem or challenge.
2️⃣ 360-Degree Feedback: Get insights from peers to see areas for growth.
3️⃣ Daily Reflection: Take five minutes at the end of each day to reflect on what went well and what could improve.
These exercises might seem simple but are highly effective in building self-awareness. What’s your favourite self-reflection exercise?

Someone asked me recently what my biggest or favourite achievement was in L&D so far. It took a moment for me to reflect, but without a doubt it has to be when I had the privilege of travelling down to London to accept the Princess Royal Award for our training programme alongside my colleagues at Onside.
We received this award for our dedication of growing our own talent, creating role models that young people can aspire to be and invest in those employees that had the potential to rise up the ranks to CEO level.
It was definitely a heart warming moment to see all the hard work get rewarded and I’m looking forward to the next challenge!

If people are the greatest creators of value in any organsation, then good performance management is critical for an organisations success.
As employees, we need to understand what is expected of us and how to achieve our goals. In order to do that we must be managed so that we are motivated, have the necessary skills, resources and support to succeed!
One thing I love to use is performance development plans, they allow me to help outline exactly what I need to do, to get where I need to get.
