From idea, to sketch, to a finished print. My first delve into mokuhanga.
Something that I have been wanting to try for a while, so finally found the time to try it out on some cheap plywood. I had actually completed the first block last year, it just took until now to get round to doing it! π
A very steep learning curve, and still getting used to cutting with hangito, but I really like this process.
Going to get some better quality wood and plan a few more prints!

Either a little late, or a tad early depending on how you look at it π€£ - Happy New Year everyone! I hope you had a good rest, and ready for LNY festivities.
I totally used the LNY fruit, cookies and cakes as props so I can start eating them π¬
Anyways, I've got only a few of these little rabbit cards left. They won't be reprinted, so once they are gone, they're gone.
Due to issues with Royal Mail right now, I'm only able to post to UK right now unfortunately.
Are you excited for LNY?

Current linocut in progress. For pretty much most of this year, art has been pretty hard to make. A little bit of a creative identity crisis and a creative block made really hindered my creative process.
β β β β β β β β β
But I've been experimenting, playing around, loosening up and trying new things and I feel like I'm on the edge of something new and exciting. I feel like the wheel is turning again. Finally. Lots more on my journey coming up. Definitely watch this space.

Introducing "Chillies for sambal" linocut on Awagami Kozo paper. This linocut is for . The theme this year is 'Food growing and gardening' where the proceeds from these prints will go towards Trussell Trust, which supports people in poverty, and Edible Rotherhithe, a community food growing project in London.

Food connects me to my home, and being in the UK, sometimes it is a little hard to source certain foods. I like to dabble in gardening, although I don't have the highest of success rates (read: very hit and miss), but the activity of growing and gardening is extremely rewarding. And the very effort of growing these ingredients and trying to make dishes from home brings me closer to my family (mainly as they try to give me endless growing tips and laugh at my wonky vegetable harvest.) For the first time last year, I made my own sambal from the few chilli plants that I grew. This year I plan to grow and make a much bigger batch as it went far too quickly!

Happy New Year everyone!
β β β β β β β β β
This week has been a bit of a funny week - it has definitely taken a bit longer than I had anticipated to get back into my routine and the swing of things.
β β β β β β β β β
I had planned to release this earlier, but I actually relaxed over the holidays (shock horror!), so plans went awry a bit. Anyways, Lunar New Year is just around the corner, and in celebration I've made this little reduction linocut and turned it into eco friendly greeting cards.
β β β β β β β β β
As it takes a few days for them to be professionally printed, and to reduce left over cards waste :( after Lunar New Year, I've made a preorder option - at a reduced price (woop! woop!) - until this Wednesday! The link is in my bio for those that are interested.

Thank you so much for keeping me busy everyone! I've been a little under the weather, so have just been packing, resting and drinking herbal soup! Feeling better with more energy now.
β β β β β β β β β
The past few days, I have managed to restock a few popular items. I will not be doing any more restocking until late January, so if you have your eye on something, then now is a good time to get!

And a reminder that last orders is tomorrow, after which I'm closing my store until 2022!! I can even send them to your loved one too - just add your gift note at the checkout, and make sure the address is correct. I feel like Christmas has really snuck up on me this year, but it's actually only 11 days aways. Really looking forward to resting and eating (lol, easy way to my heart) and just chilling with loved ones. What are you looking forward to this Christmas?
