As those of you who book with us will know, I do love a countdown! ⏰✈️

But sometimes an opportunity comes along that doesn’t give you much time to prepare… and this one gave us just a five-day countdown! 😂

But that didn’t matter, because as always, we believe in grabbing opportunities in life with both hands. ❤️

So, very early on Monday morning, we left Manchester Airport and headed off for just over 24 hours in Budapest. 🇭🇺

We visited Budapest back in 2016, but we were delighted to have the opportunity to return. Have we seen it all now? Definitely not! 😂

But we certainly packed as much as possible into those 24 hours — including three hours at the thermal baths, plenty of exploring and many, MANY thousands of steps! 👣

A whirlwind visit, but absolutely worth it. ❤️

And just like that, we’ve reached our final post from the Kruger section of our African adventure. 🐘❤️

We so loved having Ndhula Luxury Tented Lodge as our base for our time in the Kruger area — and it was made even more special because we spent our wedding anniversary here. 🥂

Set amongst the most beautiful Lowveld scenery, the lodge was the perfect place to come back to after our early morning game drives.

Our tent was absolutely gorgeous. It had all the comforts you could want, while still giving us that wonderful feeling of being right in the middle of the bush. And yes, there were a few little quirks too! 😂

One of our favourites was the shower where the water simply disappeared straight through the floor. It sounds odd, but honestly, those are the little things you end up remembering and laughing about long after you’ve come home.

The staff were fantastic and made us feel so incredibly special. Nothing was too much trouble, and coming back each day to those amazing views was pretty special.

We even managed to squeeze in a lovely couples massage, which was very welcome after two full days of game drives and some seriously early starts!

Having Ndhula as our base gave us the perfect mix — adventure by day and a little bit of luxury and relaxation when we returned.

And what an adventure those game drives were. 🦁🐘🦏🐃

We were lucky enough to see four of the Big Five… although the leopard very definitely remained on our “maybe next time” list! 🐆😂

And I think that might just be the thing about Africa — you can have an amazing trip and still leave with a reason to go back.

So, Ndhula and Kruger, thank you for some very special memories. ❤️

This really was one of the most incredible parts of our African adventure, and I don’t think either of us will ever forget waking up in that tent, heading out into the bush and coming back to those views at the end of the day.

Our Kruger chapter may be over… but our Africa adventure continued we’ve still got so much to share with you. 🌍🐘❤️
