Nettles Badminton Club - Manchester

Our members came together last night for Nettles 38th AGM. An opportunity to discuss and agree everything from membership fees, the shuttles we use and how many teams we field. We’re proud to be a member run club and thankful to everyone who volunteers each year to help keep us going 💚

Bit of a tipsy turvy match tonight as our league team played their last match of the season against Heys A away…but at home, as their venue is unavailable due to school exams. Some great games both in the levels and mixed with an end score of 11-7 to Heys. Although we lost, our data crunching leads us to believe that winning 7 games tonight *could* be just what we needed to place us second in the division…we’ll see what come back in the next few weeks 🤞

Our Open Division team played away against Manchester Edgeley last night, proudly securing 5 wins during the night 🏸

Great win for our Division 4 team tonight at home, 16-2 against Blue Triangle 🏸

Well done to our Division 4 league team who won at home tonight against Manor 17-1 🏸

Some good games on Tuesday when’s our Open Division team played at home against Silver Feathers, with the win going to Silver Feathers 11-7 🏸

At our club night tonight we trialled the NCS Pro Carbon Sonic synergetic shuttlecocks. Mixed reviews from club members. Have you tried them yet? 🏸

Winners!!! Tonight we won the Slann plate in the finals against Nomads 2 🏸 Some varied games, a few for the worse but some closer games too, luckily the handicap went in our favour with an end result of 369 vs 396.5

Great games and a fantastic win in our next Slann match tonight against Roe Green, final here we come! 🏸
