A quick update from the Club.
Although limited indoor recreational fencing has been allowed to resume recently (albeit with strict restrictions and mitigations), the Samworth Church Academy will be unable to support any sports clubs using their facilities for the foreseeable future.
We intend to review this will them around the October half term, but this may well carry on for some time yet.
I would like to thank you all for your patience and support during this difficult time. Anyone who has standing order payments to the club is recommended to cancel them until the club is in a position to resume properly. Some of you may wish to continue payments to help support the club when it resumes again, and if so, your generosity especially during this time is gratefully received.
We look forward to resuming fencing with you all again soon when we can do so safely and in conjunction with the school.
I hope you and your families keep well.
A fixture on the fencing calendar for many years , the venue is conveniently located close to the M1, and a short taxi ride from Bedford train station .

Fencing is back 18 January. See you tomorrow
Due to the sharp increases in COVID-19 cases around the country and the prospect of new potential restrictions, we are postponing our restarting until the 18th January. As the coach is away on the 11th it seems sensible to postpone restarting until after he returns. We can then assess the situation and additional measures we may need to take.
Wishing you all a safe happy Christmas holiday and all the very best for 2022.
In light of "Plan B" policy update from the government, and also a request from the school, we need to update our COVID policy so all visitors wear face coverings when coming into the school (these can be removed when in the sports hall doing fencing).
Also all visitors are to take a lateral flow test before coming, if not already doing regular testing.
This will apply to all fencers, parents and you.

The club is now closed until further notice in line with government / NHS guidance. As a not-for-profit community club, we are grateful for any continued payments we receive from members during this period. We intend to put this towards new club equipment when we return. We hope you and your family all keep well during this troubling time.
Tomorrow's junior fencing is cancelled. But senior fencing is on like normal.
Remember not to shake hands and keep safe distance from others and if you have any coronavirus symptoms stay at home.💪
