Next up in our Clipstone Fiorentina FC Girls U15s player series is another of our new signings, Rima! ⚽️

Rima is a really versatile player who can operate in central midfield, centre back or right back. She brings plenty of energy, is calm and composed in possession and isn’t afraid to put herself about and make a strong tackle.

She’s settled in really well during training and preseason and we are looking forward to seeing her continue to develop with the squad. 💪🏼

⚽ MATCH REPORT | Toton United 7-1 Clipstone Fiorentina

The final preseason test certainly gave us plenty to think about before the season starts.

With three attacking options missing, Scott had to shuffle the pack and ask a few girls to play in unfamiliar positions. However, the first 50 minutes were, quite simply, not good enough.

Clipstone struggled to find their players, couldn’t get on the ball and panicked in possession. The work rate was below the standards we expect, and physically and aggressively we were nowhere near where we needed to be. Against a strong Toton side, that made for a very difficult afternoon.

Perhaps the most frustrating part was that six of Toton’s seven goals came directly from individual errors. At this level, you simply cannot gift a good team six goals through mistakes and expect to get anything from the game. Those are the small details we have to eradicate if we want to compete at the top end of Division 1.

But then something changed.

For the final 30 minutes, it was like a switch had been flicked. The girls started playing better football, became more aggressive, played on the front foot and began imposing themselves on the game. We created considerably more chances and looked a completely different team.

The consolation goal came from a really nice move, finished calmly by Lois.

Yes, we had players missing today, but that doesn’t excuse the lack of work rate, aggression and intensity shown for large parts of the game. Those are things we control, regardless of who is available.

However, the final 30 minutes did give us one important positive: we showed that we can compete with the better teams in this league when we play our football and play with the right attitude.

There are plenty of lessons to take from today, and that’s exactly what preseason is for.

A really solid performance at left back, with some excellent challenges and some good football throughout. A deserved POM after another encouraging display.

Laila joins us as a versatile and exciting defensive option who is comfortable at left back, right back and in midfield. She is cool, calm and composed in possession, reads the game well and has the confidence to get on the ball and play.

One of Laila’s biggest strengths is her ability to play comfortably with both feet, with her left and right foot equally capable. That versatility will be a huge asset to the squad this season.

After training with us and impressing in our recent preseason games, especially with an excellent performance against Sheffield United Junior Blades, we knew Laila would be a great addition to the group.

Next up in our new signing and player profile series, we are delighted to officially welcome Amelia to Clipstone Fiorentina FC Girls U15s! ⚽️

Amelia will be wearing the number 15 shirt this season and joins us to strengthen our defensive options at centre back.

A strong and composed defender, Amelia is comfortable on the ball and has the confidence to play out from the back, which fits perfectly with the way we want to play. She is also not afraid of a tackle and brings a real physical presence to the team.

After some really positive training sessions and preseason friendlies, we are excited to see Amelia continue to develop with us and become an important part of the squad.
