Great start to kick off our 2026/27 season!

Today we travelled to face AFC Hinckley Women’s Team who hosted us in their first season as a team, and despite another very warm day, the girls put in a fantastic team performance to come away with a 4–1 victory and 3 points! 👏💙

We came out strong, using the whole pitch, creating chances and working hard together as a unit.

⚽️ 1–0 | Daisy Fern-Halliwell A rocket into the top bins from Daisy, with a lovely assist from Jen Davis-Dean. 🚀

⚽️ 2–0 | Stacey Deary Stacey found the back of the net from far out after a lovely pass from Laura Marlow. 💥

⚽️ 3–0 | Daisy Fern-Halliwell Daisy grabbed her second after another lovely assist from Jen Davis-Dean, finishing brilliantly from the right-hand side. 🔥

AFC Hinckley got one back from a corner to make it 3–1, but we kept pushing on and stayed focused.

⚽️ 4–1 | Stacey Deary A beautiful corner from Laura Marlow was flicked on by Jen for Stacey to head home and complete her brace! 🎯👏

A brilliant performance from the whole team, with plenty of chances created and some fantastic defensive work too — including a huge goal-line clearance from Naomi Nunn! 👏

Player of the match — Jen Davis-Dean

A fantastic performance from Jen, who started at RW before moving into RB. With two assists, great vision and awareness, and a real drive going forward, she was a constant threat and fully deserved her POM today! 💙

A fantastic start to the season — first win, 3 points and plenty to build on 👌

🔥 Amazing last pre-season friendly🔥

What a game today in the heat! 🥵

A huge thank you to Gresley Rovers Reserves for coming out to give us our final pre-season friendly. 👏

We came away with a fantastic 6-0 win! 💙

The team were absolutely brilliant today — constantly pressing, communicating, winning our duels and counter-attacking as a unit. Everything we have been working on in training really came together today! 👌

The goals:

We got off to a flying start with Rach Pegg providing a great assist for Bex Kennedy, who finished beautifully into the back of the net! 🔥

Then Laura Marlow delivered a cracking corner, which Daisy Fern-Halliwell brilliantly converted to make it 2-0! ⚽️👏

Rach Pegg was involved again soon after, assisting Daisy, who took the ball around the keeper and slotted it home! 🔥

Into the second half, Daisy completed her hat-trick after brilliantly intercepting the keeper's kick and putting it away! ⚽️

With around 20 minutes to go, Phoenix Collins produced a lovely flicked header, which fell perfectly to Daisy, who finished beautifully for her fourth goal of the game! 🔥

With 10 minutes remaining, Jen Davis-Dean provided a great assist for Sally McNaughton, who finished brilliantly to make it 6-0! 👌

Player of the match - Lucy Richardson 🎉

Lucy was outstanding in midfield today — winning duels, pressing, passing, showing real strength and constantly working for the team. An absolutely brilliant performance! 👏

You should be so proud of yourself, Lucy!

The whole team should be incredibly proud. A fantastic way to finish pre-season and now we're ready for the real thing 6th Sept 💙

What a game today in our second pre-season friendly — and what a scorcher it was! 🥵☀️

Today we were back in action against Windmill Borough FC, who kindly hosted us in Nuneaton.

It was absolutely scorching out there, but the team put in a huge shift from start to finish as we continue preparing for life in Division 2 this season. 💙

There were plenty of positives to take from the game, with some great passing, pressing and link-up play, as well as plenty of chances. We had shots on target, a few near misses, an effort off the crossbar early on and another just over the bar.

The first-half was a challenge but our team didn't give up going into the break despite the opposition being 2-0 up, the team continued to work hard and we kept creating chances.

The second half saw us get ourselves back into the game, with Connie scoring a beautiful goal to make it 2-1! 👏⚽

We kept pushing, and Rach P then produced a lovely finish off the post to bring us level! 👌🔥

And then to secure the win… stepping into midfield, Stacey unleashed an absolute SCREAMER into the top of the net to make it 3-2! 👏

FULL TIME: WINDMILL BOROUGH 2️⃣–3️⃣ AFC MARKET BOSWORTH WOMEN! 💙

A thoroughly deserved win for the effort every single player put in today 👌

Our CB put in a fantastic shift, making important interceptions, playing some great passes and linking up brilliantly before stepping into midfield in the second half and scoring an absolute worldie! 🤯🔥

A massive well done to Stacey and to the whole squad for the effort, commitment and determination shown throughout the game — especially in that heat.

Congratulations to , our Club of the Year at the LRCFA Recognition Awards 2026!

From humble beginnings with just one team 12 years ago, AFC Market Bosworth has grown into one of the county's leading grassroots clubs, now providing opportunities for more than 380 players across 32 teams, from youth football through to adult men's and women's teams.

The club's commitment extends far beyond the pitch. Through its Wildcats and development programmes, mental wellbeing sessions, investment in coaches, referees and volunteers, and continued focus on inclusion, AFC Market Bosworth is ensuring football is accessible to everyone in its community.

While celebrating success on the pitch, including helping players progress into professional academies, the club has never lost sight of what matters most: creating a welcoming environment where every player can enjoy football, develop their skills and feel they belong.

Nothing like a last-minute friendly! 👌⚽

Today we were back in action after a month off as we kicked off our pre-season with a friendly against league winners and newly promoted Division 1 side Coalville, who kindly hosted us.

It was certainly a warm one out there, but the team worked incredibly hard from start to finish and put in a real shift as we continue preparing for life in Division 2 this season. 💙

There were lots of positives to take from the game, with shots on target, a few near misses, and some great link-up play right through the team from defence, midfield and attack.

The final score finished 3-1 to Coalville, but overall it was a solid performance and a great way to get minutes back into the legs.

Our goal came from today's Player of the Match and newest signing, Sophie Parker! 🎉

Coming on up front, Sophie put in a fantastic performance with her high pressing, intelligent runs and willingness to put the opposition under pressure. Her hard work paid off when she found herself in the right place at the right time and calmly finished past the keeper to get us on the scoresheet. ⚽

A thoroughly deserved Player of the Match award for Sophie, and a massive well done to the whole squad for the effort, commitment and attitude shown throughout the game. 👏

Thank you to Coalville for hosting us, and we look forward to the next few pre-season friendlies as we continue building towards the new season. 💙
