Rachel Foster I help people master the connection between their body and their voice. Hi, I’m Rachel Foster.

Through a blend of breathwork, yoga, and communication coaching, I help you regulate your nervous system so you can move, breathe, and speak with grounded, authentic confidence. My mission is to help people find calm confidence and authentic expression through the connection of movement, breath and voice, enabling them to move through life with clarity, impact and ease. I am a public speaking coach with over 20 years of real-world experience. I help professionals, students and presenters build the structure, presence and delivery skills they need to speak with confidence and clarity. I am also a yoga teacher, working towards completion of a BWYQ Level 4 Diploma (500 hours), the highest level qualification for yoga teacher training. I teach yoga classes and workshops that focus on breath, body awareness and nervous system regulation. I combine yoga, breathwork and voice techniques to support both personal and professional growth. For clients who want it, I integrate embodied practices to deepen presence, reduce performance anxiety and strengthen natural expression. For clients who prefer a communication-only route, I provide practical coaching focused solely on structure, storytelling and delivery.

✅ One-to-one coaching (public speaking and embodied confidence)
✅ Small group sessions and workshops
✅ Yoga classes and breathwork workshops
✅ Online and in-person (local area) options

That sudden wave of anxiety, the shaky voice, and the fear that your mind will go completely blank is far more common than you think. Public speaking confidence isn't something you're either born with or not; it is simply a skill you can learn with the right tools.

I am running a down-to-earth online session to help you handle those nerves and feel genuinely calm when you need to speak.

Have you ever been told that crossing your arms makes you look "defensive" or "closed off"?

A participant in a recent workshop shared that they received this exact feedback after an interview. It left them feeling self-concious and honestly, I think it was totally unfair criticism.

𝐁𝐨𝐝𝐲 𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐲 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐬 𝐦𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐬 𝐰𝐞’𝐫𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞.

The idea that most communication is non-verbal comes from a heavily misunderstood study from 1967. 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮’𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐲 𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐢𝐭𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟.

Think about the times you talk to a good friend about something you care about. I bet you weren't thinking about what your hands are doing, were you?

In my latest journal entry, I explore where this myth came from and share simple practices to help you work with your emotional responses when nerves step in.

Rained off today, but bringing the sunshine online! 🌧️➡️☀️

It was disappointing to get rained off early from the Market Drayton Wellbeing Hub today because I love chatting with you about the real, everyday anxieties of public speaking, like shaky voices and mind-blanking.

So, to make up for lost time, I’m extending my 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚 discount to everyone for my next workshop!

𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠: 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲
🗓️ 8th October 2026 | 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM (Zoom)
✨ Just £8.50 (discount applied automatically at checkout)
✨ Bring a Teen (11–18) for FREE!

Parents often tell me how much their teenagers struggle with confidence and how transformational speaking skills would be for them. I know joining a live workshop can feel daunting for young people, so bringing them alongside you creates a safe, supportive environment where you can both learn practical tools together.

Whether you need to present at work, speak at a community event, or want to help your teen find their voice, this down-to-earth session will give you both the tools to feel calm and confident.

Comment '𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐅𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄' or send me a DM, and I'll message you the direct booking link! 🎟️

"𝑌𝑜𝑢'𝑟𝑒 𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑦 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑡𝑎𝑏𝑙𝑒 ℎ𝑜𝑙𝑑𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑐𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑡, 𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑛'𝑡 𝑦𝑜𝑢?"

Was the question a colleague asked after a recent presentation. I dread people saying this about me. Growing up, being told I was "holding court" was an accusation; a polite way of saying I was taking up too much space and showing off.

After many years of doubt, I have finally realised having the confidence to stand up in front of a room full of people, or start a casual conversation with a stranger, is actually a superpower and it’s been fundamental to my career.

When I reframed "holding a room" to 𝐀𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩, I identified a distinct set of skills that turn a formal presentation into a genuine connection.

To honour this, I’ve just launched a new journal series on the skills and mindsets behind developing genuine audience connections. In Part 1, I explore the 5 core pillars of audience stewardship.

📖 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞: https://www.rachelfoster.uk/journal/the-art-of-audience-stewardship

💬 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮: Were you ever told as a child that you were "talking too much" or taking up too much space? How did that shape how you show up in your career today? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

Discover how to transform public speaking from "showing off" into audience stewardship. Learn the 5 core skills of commanding a room and building real trust.

September has always felt like the real start of the year to me, especially in the garden! 🌿

But before diving headfirst into autumn and new plans, I have taken a moment to reflect on everything that went on this August. It was a busy month filled with:

✨ Huge progress with my house rennovation

🌊 A trip to Nova Scotia & Peggy's Cove

🍞 Baking sourdough and mastering homemade yogurt

🌽 Allotment wins and losses in the heat

🧘‍♀️ Prepping for new yoga classes & public speaking workshops

Grab a cup of tea and pop over to the blog to read the full monthly update! ☕👇

How are you feeling about the shift into September? I’d love you to leave me a comment so I can hear what you’re planning, planting, or making this month!

Best wishes,
Rachel Xx

Reflecting on a busy August: kitchen renovation milestones, travel to Nova Scotia, sourdough baking, allotment updates, and preparing for September classes.
