100 Club | Marlow Community

Support your local lottery!

Marlow Community Association runs the 100 Club Lottery an opportunity to win a prize and help to raise funds for MCA & Liston Hall.

As a lottery member, you will be entered in our monthly draw, and if we have 100 members you have the chance of winning £50!

Over the year the MCA and hall would receive £600 to go towards the upkeep of the hall. The annual subscription is £12 for the year starting March 2023, and we're looking for new members.

Marlow Community Association, is a local charity that runs Liston Hall to benefit the community. We host a variety of rooms, great for personal use or commercial, be it a one off meeting or a regular fitness class.

Our Thames Room is a medium sized room with its own private entrance, small kitchen and toilet, accommodating up to 50 with stacking tables and chairs.

Our Garden Room can hold up to 40 people and is a lovely bright room that overlooks our small garden at the front. It is carpeted, has curtains and is furnished with tables and upholstered chairs.
Both rooms are suitable for smaller functions, lunches, meetings, classes or small children’s parties.

We also have our Main Hall, a bright, high ceiling room with access to the main kitchen which industrial cooker and equipment. It can hold 200 people standing or 175 in a theatre style, it even has space for a bouncy castle!

All rooms have free Wi-Fi and screens / large plain wall for showing slides or films. A digital projector is available for hire.

As the beautiful sunny days get that little bit chiller, we can't help but start to look towards December!!

With this, and yes, we're going to say it, are you looking to book your Christmas party, works get together, children's party or social event?

Liston Hall is located in central Marlow with a car park next door. It's a fantastic venue offering a range of rooms for all sizes, budgets and a fully equip kitchen if required.

Our main hall can host up to 200 people and is a wonderful space to decorate for those special events - we've just had a beautiful new floor laid. We’ve hosted weddings, birthday parties with a bouncy castle and Christmas socials.

Our Thames Room is a lovely bright room with its own private entrance, small kitchen and toilet, accommodating up to 50.

The Garden Room is at the front of the building and can hold up to 40 people. Another lovely bright room with carpets, curtains and facilities to project be it a presentation or movie.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone at the Carnival on the 1st of October. Slightly changed due to the rescheduling but will still be a great fun day

Well done to our Carnival Committee, not an easy task to reschedule such an event.

The Marlow Carnival Committee is mourning the loss of Her Majesty the Queen and we send our deepest condolences to the Royal Family.
As a voluntary organisation, and in light of the period of national mourning we feel it is not appropriate to continue as planned and we have therefore decided that the carnival will not go ahead on the 17th.
We want the carnival to be a fun event for the whole community and we are looking at the best course of action on how to proceed and a decision will be made over the course of the next few days, so please bear with us as we work through the logistics of everything.

We at MCA offer our condolences to all her family and give thanks for her extraordinary life, work and devotion to duty.
RIP Your Majesty.

As part of our fundraising efforts (all the money raised at the carnival is for charitable purposes) we are lucky to have the support of Superstars Fundraising . Well it's been a busy summer!

We've been posting up what we've been up too but just to re-cap, we've got a new Marlow Community Association sign on the high street where you can find out what community activities are taking place at Liston Hall.

We've also had a fabulous new floor put into the main hall - it looks fantastic, a great room for your up and coming event, party, or dare I say, Christmas do!

The Marlow Carnival will be taking place on Saturday 17th September! A fantastic community event with so much on - children's entertainment, local stalls, carnival parade through the town, live music and dance acts, food, drinks and more - a great free family fun!

We will also be sharing more information on a lovely community project we are looking to start which will see us make the most of the garden at the front of the hall, turning it into a wildlife garden. If you're interested in getting involved, or think your school/class / toddler group might like it as an activity please follow our page to keep in touch.

The summer is nearly over but we are not sad here at Liston Hall. No, we are very excited because we are having a lovely new floor fitted in our large Hall. So when all our lovely hirers come back after a summer off we will have a nice surprise for them!

Great activity to do with the children over the summer holidays!

If you are walking about town you might notice some of our animals around town. They love a good game and they are hiding in windows in and around the High Street. To be in with a chance to win a gift card worth £1,000 from Peter Ungar Jewellery help us find all 15.
Entry forms will be available from the MCA office at Liston Hall (Chapel Street, SL7 1DD) from Monday the 25th of July.
It is £5 to enter and all monies raised goes to charity, and is helping the carnival raise as much money as possible. Forms are available to purchase Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9am until 12pm for the next 2 weeks.

URGENT CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS - Friday drivers

The Lunch club has been running for many years at Liston Hall. We provide a home cooked two course lunch mostly but not exclusively for people who live alone.

They arrive about 10.30 and are served tea/coffee and have the opportunity to socialise and make new friends . We serve lunch followed by a bit more chat then they leave for home. We have a team of volunteers who run the kitchen.

However, some of our guests can only attend if they have transport. This is provided by a team of volunteer drivers. All of our guests live in Marlow / Marlow Bottom.

We are now in desperate need of drivers to enable us to continue this service. Currently there are SIX guests on our transport rota, who need to be brought to Liston Hall in the morning and taken back home after lunch.

We are therefore reaching out to anyone who would be willing to sign up to our transport rota.

The carnival is a great event each year and good news to hear the parade is back!

Saturday the 17th of September we are pleased to be able to welcome you all to Marlow Carnival, in Higginson Park as usual. Lots of fun activities for all ages, stalls, food and drinks providers as well as live music and dance performances.
The children's parade will be back this year, come see the parade down the high street.
We can't wait to see you all there.

A fabulous FREE event organised by Marlow Town Council to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee on Friday 3rd June in Higginson Park! How exciting!

*PARTY LIKE THE QUEEN*
More details have been announced for the FREE event organised by Marlow Town Council to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

In Higginson Park on Friday, 3rd June from 11am to 5pm, Marlovians will be transported back to the sights and sounds of the 1950s, experiencing what England was like during the time of the Queen’s coronation.

All are invited to dress in 1950s-style or vintage, bring a blanket, enjoy a picnic and savour the day’s entertainment.

Top of the bill, starting around 11.30 am are The Polka Dots (pictured here) , bringing a modern twist on the classic 1940s and 50s close harmony swing trio, from Glenn Miller and The Andrews Sisters to The Dots’ unique Rhianna and Jamiroquai arrangements.

There will be a strolling magician to keep everyone amused, and in the afternoon you can enjoy the music of the Bluejays, the popular and authentic rock and roll band, performing the biggest hits from the 1950s.

Other activities include fairground games and wooden swing boats. Popcorn and candy floss will be available, as well as a licensed bar. There’ll even be a Royal Throne with props – to create the perfect selfie or royal family photo!

Then please come to the first ever Sustainable Marlow Town Hall meeting on 26th April, 5pm to 6:30pm, at the Parish Rooms on the Causeway - more detail below.

Do you live in Marlow? Are you interested in the environment and climate change? Then please come to the first ever Sustainable Marlow Town Hall meeting on 26th April, 5pm to 6:30pm, at the Parish Rooms on the Causeway, SL7 2AA.

At the meeting, Marlow Town Council will explain what it is doing for sustainability and invite feedback and discussion. The Council will also share details of its ambitious Sustainable Marlow Challenge programme focusing on sustainable behaviour change.

Overall, the Council wants to engage more closely with residents on the vital topic of sustainability. We can achieve more and move faster to make Marlow a greener, safer and more pleasant town if we work together as a whole community.

Liston Hall is a hall for the community. Run by the Marlow Community Association, it's aim is to bring together groups and individuals who offer mutual support and friendship.
