Great club session at Symonds Yat last night. River was a bit low but still plenty of features to practice on. We even did some rolling to cool down 😉. Well done everyone!

Congratulations to our A Team on coming 2nd in Div 1 and getting promoted to the Premier Division next season!!

Also well done to our B team who also came second in Div 3 and narrowly missed out on promotion this year. We’re sure next year will be our year.

A stunning day for a paddle last weekend, across the bay and up the River Ely, 11km in 5 hours. 5 Kayaks and 3 Canadian Canoes including new members Reuben, who has just completed the beginners course and his dad Aled. Chris has also recently joined the club and it was Mathew's first outing in a solo canoe.
Oh, and there was cake, thanks to the nice man in the big boat who lent us his key fob so we could get out of the marina and up to the coffee shop.

Good Luck to our A team who are playing in Div1 of the National Canoe Polo League at Nottingham this weekend.

Beginners Course Lake day 26th April
4 young people finished their introduction to kayaking course with a great morning on Taff Bargoed Lakes. The got to use the skills that they have learnt, went on a journey up the lake to the bridge weir, played a game of polo and shot the weirs. The parents were really pleased and it looks like we may have some new familly members on the way.

Well done to your Polo teams who entered the National Champs in Nottingham on the 18/19th of April.
Our A team did well coming 2nd in the Open Plate competition and our B team who came 6th on the Open shield.
It was great to see some of our younger players Jack and Ostyn getting a try out in the A team too.
Even Hobbit managed to get out on the water.

Well done to our B Team who won the Welsh 4's Div. 2 league yesterday!!

Aberfan Canoe Club awarded a Ffos Y Fran grant for new gazebos which will be used during the competitions held at Taff Bargoed lakes. Thanks to Councillor Darren Roberts for your support in helping us secure the grant.
