🚨 REDCAR CF 2–2 APFC 🚨

A feisty Sunday League season opener against the top of the league! 🔥

With just one actual CB available today, the boys were ready to go at sunny Redcar. ☀️

We started exactly how we wanted — in control, on the front foot and creating chances straight away.

Curry n Carbs beats Beefy flies past the centre half and creates a massive early chance for Kash, but it just wasn’t to be.

The game settled into a back-and-forth battle, with APFC probably enjoying more of the ball in the first half.

Beefy was causing problems up top, while Yusha and Hass ran the midfield, and eventually it paid off.

A cracking ball from Hass finds Beefy, who makes no mistake and slots it home. ⚽️

Then Yusha splits the defence with another quality ball into Beefy, who rounds the keeper and slots it into the near post.

2–0 APFC. 💪

Redcar came out strong after the break, grabbing a goal straight away and taking control of the game.

Plenty of chances for both sides, but it was Redcar who eventually found the equaliser.

If you sat back as a neutral, this game genuinely could have gone either way.

A great game against a good group of lads. We wish Redcar all the best for the season and look forward to seeing you again in the reverse fixture. 🤝

🚨 We are back - Redcar CF v APFC 🚨

After a good bit of time off and watching the rest of the league get their seasons underway, the APFC boys are finally back and raring to go! 🐂⚽️

The lads have been keeping themselves busy over the summer, getting stuck into the cricket season and somehow managed to bring home the first trophy in APFC history. 🏆

Shame it came in cricket and not football… but we’ll take it. 😂

And if we thought we’d ease ourselves into the football season, think again…

🚨 Thornaby Roundel 3-3 APFC 🚨

Another tough test against a strong Division One side, and our first game against one of next season’s league opponents following our promotion.

Plenty of trialists involved once again, with a few of the regular lads returning after their summer break for their first run-out of pre-season.

It was a slow start from the boys, and we rode our luck for the opening 10 minutes. Lynchy and Ben Kane were determined not to concede against their former club and marshalled the defence well.

The next 25 minutes belonged to us as we started moving the ball well and creating chances. The breakthrough came courtesy of the return of our Moroccan magician. ✨

The second half was evenly contested, with both sides making plenty of changes and giving trialists valuable minutes. The goals came thick and fast, with both teams showing quality in attack. There were loads of positives to take from the game and, most importantly, more minutes in the legs ahead of the season.

Two outrageous goals—one from each side—showcased some brilliant footwork and clinical finishing.

A great turnout from the trialists too, giving the management plenty to think about as we edge closer to the new season.

🚨 APFC 0-2 The Billingham Coolers 🚨

First one of the season and it’s definitely showed. Some boys need to purchase a treadmill for the off season I think.

A good game and a good test for the 16 trialists today.

Coolers the better side for the opening 15, looking good with every attack in fairness to them. Boys then started finding their feet and knocking the ball around well and dominating spells of the game.

First coolers goal came a little bit out of no where but they were quicker and sharper to majority of the second balls today so can see why it went in.

Second half was pretty much the same. Shout out to the coolers centre halves who won every header and gave them the advantage.

Loads of new faces and loads of positives for us, never about the result in pre season (although we’d have preferred to win like). Good chance to see 16 new lads with the kit on and battling to sign on.
