🚨 Eston Villa 0–2 APFC 🚨
We wrap up our first season with a well-needed win.
Facing tough opposition over at Stokesley’s pitch this morning, the lads knew it wouldn’t be easy especially after a run of poor results and some bad form. The gaffer looked to the bench, giving players a chance to step up and make their mark.
The game started evenly, with both sides enjoying spells of possession and finding space in behind the fullbacks. It was always going to be a tough test against a strong group with some tricky wingers, but Lucas did what he does best and kept his man quiet.
Chances came for both teams in the first half, but neither side could find the breakthrough.
Second half, Amal came alive. Our Moroccan magician showed glimpses before the break but really stepped it up, helping us take control of the game.
AB slotted into the number 10 role for the first time and absolutely thrived, linking everything together with confidence. Alongside him, the experience and leadership of big Dalo—finally pulling on the purple top—made a huge difference.
The breakthrough came in bizarre fashion. Pressing high, we forced an error from their fullback, and under pressure he smashed it back toward his own goal—only for the keeper to nod it into his own net.
That gave us momentum. With AB pulling the strings, we started to create more chances, especially out wide.
The hard work paid off when a perfectly timed ball sent our magician through. He rounded the keeper and squared it to Fez, who beat his man and finished neatly.
Big decision from the gaffer paid off—Fez, usually our number one in goal, had been asking to play up top all season. Last game of the year, the gaffer rolled the dice… and it worked. One chance, one goal. Keeper turned striker!
We saw the game out well, with the opposition pushing late on, but our sub keeper came up with a big save to keep the clean sheet intact.
Always a tough game against a quality group—nothing but respect for them.
That’s our first season wrapped up. Full analysis of our season to follow.

🚨 APFC v Oddies 🚨
One word - Embarrassing.
Not much to say really, after class performances all year. Better team first half but still sh*te. First goal went in and lads thought they’d won it. Won’t mention the missed chances.
Dunno what happened 2nd half but that definitely wasn’t a football game, midfielders watched the ball go over their heads every time opposition had it.
Fair play to them, made it scruffy and came out on top, didn’t let us play and rattled a few of our lads.
Awful football, some terrible crack and a Sunday to forget that. Gaffers told the lads that’s the only performance of that standard he’s willing to see.
Fair play to Oddies, celebrated like they won the world cup tbf. Can’t fault them they take the 3 points.

🚨 APFC 1-1 New Marske 🚨
Frustrating.
Last time we played these they said we didn’t know how to play football but this time around I dunno how this has finished a draw.
Well I do, Ab missed a penna, strikers couldn’t tie their laces never mind score a goal.
They had a few chances tbf but after watching the veo gaffers on the verge of signing new forwards.
Fair play to their keeper, easily MOTM. Live and learn, still a point at the end of the day.

🚨 APFC v New Marske 🚨
2nd game of Ramadan for the boys with our tough end to the season continuing.
Boys will be looking to bounce back against a very good Nee Marske side, tasty one last time so let’s see what this brings.
3rd in the league as we stand and far higher than any of us expected with a few games left in our first year so let’s have it.

🚨 APFC 0-4 The Lingdale Tavern FC 🚨
Not much to say but beaten by the better team today.
Lads struggled against a very good side today, they pushed us hard and side to side. Couple of opportunities for our boys but nothing to scream and shout about.
Boys will have to brush it off and go again, tough one to take but take the positives and look on to next week.

🚨 APFC v The Lingdale Tavern FC🚨
First game of Ramadan and we couldn’t have been given a bigger test.
With 50% of the squad fasting, the lads face a massive challenge this Sunday against Lingdale Tavern — top of the league and still unbeaten.
They gave us a proper spanking at the start of the season our first ever game and all that, so thissl be a good test to see where we are at.
Let’s have it. 💪⚽

🚨 Beckfields 2–5 APFC 🚨
Grass isn’t always greener…
After a week off, the boys were back full of energy on an absolutely horrific bog of a pitch. Fair play to the ref and Beckfields for getting the game on — when we rocked up to see lads sweeping water off the pitch, we knew we were in for one.
Following the reverse fixture win — where our then-skipper came off the bench to score a hat-trick — this one was always going to be tasty, especially after his transfer papers were signed by today’s opposition. New APFC skipper Fin and the old skipper put the friendship aside early doors, plenty of chew before a ball was even kicked. Fair to say JM locked him up today and he received a few “friendly” challenges.
We started strong and on top. Olas proving once again to be a top, top signing, finishing beautifully to make it 1–0 after some brilliant work from Lucas at fullback.
Soon after, Amal’s midfield general Yusha made it 2–0. Lovely tiki-taka in and around the box with Ayoub before finding the top corner — what a finish.
Beckfields kept pushing (and you can see why they’re one of the strongest sides in the league). A cracking free kick made it 2–1.
Plenty of needle in this one. Assistant gaffer Dan was at it all game with some Oompa Loompa playing CM for them — decent baller to be fair. Might try sign him… gave us two pre-assists, cheers mate 👊🏿
The Moroccan magician then came off the bench and whipped one to the back post, straight onto Rob’s fat swede. 3–1 APFC.
We weren’t done. After some handbags and proper Sunday League chaos, Fez went route one — absolute vision out of the hands — and our little Moroccan dinked the keeper. What an assist.
Beckfields kept coming (too good a side to stay quiet), and grabbed another, but the game was done. Some filthy work down the right led to a simple tap-in for AB to kill it off. 5–2.
Outstanding result. Couldn’t fault the lads — legs up and down, flying into challenges, and showing real discipline despite some awful tackles.
Hopefully they don’t try poaching any more of our boys 👀
Good game in all seriousness — Beckfields are a top, top side. That’s 6 points and the season wrapped up against them.
Best of luck lads.
Well done No.4 👊🏿

🚨 APFC 7-0 Riverside 🚨
First 3 of the year!!
Not the greatest performance by the boys own high standards but a very good showing and 3 points is all that matters.
Started off a bit slow and rusty but they boys quickly turned things around with the gaffer losing his head.
Great play by the Moroccan magician winning himself a pen and slotting away calmly.
Man in form and assistant gaffer Dan had seen enough and after some great work by APFCs engine Yusha, Dan found the back of the net (as he always does) dirty little volley into the bottom corner.
Boys kept pushing and after a couple of changes the Kurdish Iniesta slammed one in off a well taken corner by hamza.
Assistant gaffer was just getting started, set piece back post (what a ball) and our Moroccan lamppost Ayoub nodded In. 4-0 and a chance for the subs to make an impact.
Subs came on and done what they do best, give the gaffer more of a headache.
Lucas coming on at fullback thought f*** this and channeled his inner Gareth bale rinsing 3 man down the left and putting it on a plate for the other sub Shaun to slot home.
Game not done and our final sub Kash got in on the action after a lovely little lay off by Dan and slamming into the back of the net.
Good day out for the lads but a lot to work on still.
