🔴🔵 SPR Tournament 🔴🔵

Today was our Barry Thomas memorial cup tournament at the dock,
We had a tough group draw on paper and were up against our training mates the South Park Rangers Under 10’s
The kids battled hard today and put in some great results, we played some good football at times, passing, communication, workrate were all on point, we had to dig in at times to grind out some good results to finish top of our group 💪🏻 not losing a game,
We made it all the way to the semi final, missing out on penalties to SPR u10 Reds,
The kids did the club proud today, and managed another tournament semi final, making it 2 finals and 3 semi finals in the 5 tournaments we have played since we started, that's a record to be proud of, these kids deserve every credit today, especially how they bounced back after narrowly missing out in a tournament final on Tuesday night

Match report

We welcomed the 21st all stars to the dock tonight in the final of our summer league tournament,
The game started bright both teams having flashes and attempts at goal, but both teams managed to frustrate the other in a tight first half, Darlington edging the lead with a sloppy free kick from our point it went straight through into the net,
We chased and battled hard to get back into the second half, and we were bright, moved the ball, opened up a few chances, but got caught chasing the game, then Darlington punished our tiredness and stray passes to put the game out of sight the kids didn't give up and should of had a couple of goals in the last 15mins hitting the post twice and making their keeper make some great saves, it wasn't our day and Darlington deserved their win, these kids need to hold their heads high and came away with a trophy, another day it would of been a different scoreline but that's footy, thank you to Stan South Park Rangers Under 10’s for helping out with the guys tonight in Liam's absence, appreciate it mate UTSPR 🔴🔵🏆

Just a personal shout out to Finn Triplett 🔴🔵
So 6 months ago Finn was caught up in an incident playing for South Park Rangers Blues - U12 and the kid wanted to stop playing footy altogether, he was bullied and lost all his confidence and focus literally didn't want to play football again, after a word with his dad he came back with a "Bullies can't win" attitude and he smashed it, scored his 1st goal of the season, put in some player of the match performances, and went onto win the merit award for the u12's, now bullying has no place at the dock and shouldn't have a place in football, but this kids attitude and bounce back ability is mega and what we love to see, so Finn came down and joined in a session with us when the Boro ladies visited and I was asking him for a signed boot for his attitude and performance, I really admire that especially in kids, so today .. I got my wish and he came and signed his boot for me 🫶🏻🔴🔵 what a little legend, keep working hard Finn and keep up that winning attitude, you are a hero in my book UTSPR
