Martin Holmes Takes September Milton Keynes WASPA Title
Milton Keynes Table Soccer Club hosted its latest monthly WASPA event on Monday 14 September at The Woburn Hotel, with eight players taking part from Milton Keynes and Kettering.
The evening was played across two groups of four before classification matches decided the final positions.
Kettering’s Martin Holmes produced a perfect group-stage performance, winning all three of his matches and finishing with nine points and a +8 goal difference.
Grahame Farmer finished second in Group 2 with six points, while Mark Green topped a closely fought Group 1 ahead of Paul Gildersleve, with both players finishing on five points.
That set up a final between Holmes and Green, with Holmes completing an unbeaten evening with a 2–0 victory to take the monthly trophy.
Gildersleve secured third place with a 3–0 win over Farmer, while John Cooper defeated Greg Lickorish 3–1 in the fifth-place match. Dave Everitt completed the classification matches with a 2–0 victory over Harry Staszewski.
