Holy Flock Balls! 🎾
Is it time you gave your horse some saddle TLC?

Remember that your saddle’s panel is there to distribute your weight evenly over your horse’s ribcage… but imagine it having lots of old hard and lumpy balls of flock instead of a soft, balanced, well-maintained layer of wool flocking 🤔
It is advisable to have your saddle reflocked every 2 to 4 years (depending on how often you’re riding).
Even in ‘new’ second hand saddles, who knows how many different types of flocking are inside that panel creating a rough, hard and unbalanced bearing surface causing pressure points?! 🥹

Been super busy checking, fitting, reflocking in house and onsite, repairing and making.

🐑 Remember that the flocking in your saddle should be well maintained with quarterly to six monthly checks, and replaced fully every 2 to 4 years, depending on how much ridden work you do 🐎
Check regularly for lumps, bumps and hollows in your saddle’s panels!

Been super busy doing workshop jobs in between saddle checking and onsite reflocking and adjustments.
⭐️ Get in touch if your saddle’s panel is hard or lumpy/undulated, as it more than like needs a full reflock ⚠️
⭐️ This can either be done onsite at your premises or in my workshop.
⭐️ The whole process takes about 3 to 3.5 hours, including refitting and ridden assessment 🐴🧵🪡🐑
⚠️ Don’t forget, your saddle’s panel is there to evenly distribute your weight over your horse’s back, so you certainly wouldn’t want it to be hard or lumpy 🙈😅

*SOLD* I have in my workshop a client’s 15” Thorowgood T4 pony saddle for sale. Adjustable gullet. She is asking £295 ono. It’s a super little saddle, which I have very recently reflocked for her. It’s gross, sorry… the evils of not sharpening your saddlery knives! Poor performance = one slip and it ends up deep inside your hand. Felt sick 🤢 It hurts 😭 ! 🤣
