A brilliant, deep, but commonly misunderstood statement, attributed to Sun Tzu, is: βIf you want peace, prepare for war.β. These words do not mean that war is desirable, or should be sought out. Rather, it means that taken as a whole, the act of martial training, of effort, of studying the myriad possibilities, of learning what is possible and what is probable, will ultimately lead one to seek out non-violent solutions to all problems. I say this as someone who has trained for 32 years now, and I still marvel at how accurate the words of Sun Tzu are. β€οΈ
