Cheadle SMU 2-2 Wolstanton United - Cheadle SMU win 5-4 on penalties

The boys started very slowly in the game and were not at it for the first 20 minutes. Cheadle deservedly took the lead to go into halftime at 1-0.

We started the second half very brightly with a lot more intensity to our game, however we conceded against the run of play and had a mountain to climb. The boys did themselves proud and took the game to Cheadle and dominated the second half. Harry got our first goal from the penalty spot after the Cheadle player handled in the box.

We continued to push for the equaliser and it finally came after a second penalty was awarded, Harrison slotting home.
We pushed for a late winner but couldn’t find it, 2-2 at full time, straight to penalties.

What a tense penalty shootout, with both teams missing penalties to take us into sudden death. Unfortunately for us, Cheadle came out the better side and won 5-4. Well done Cheadle SMU 👏🏻🏆

Whilst we never won the competition, a superb evening and we’re proud of the boys.

A great victory this evening for the boys, winning 3-1 against Stone Dominoes which sees us go to the Bet365 next month for the final of the Sentinel Cup.

Chester coming so close to scoring straight from the kick off, with only the crossbar denying him. We got into our rhythm pretty quickly and took a deserved lead 11 minutes into the game with a well placed free kick from Harrison. We continued to create plenty of opportunities but couldn’t find the net, Max came closest to doubling the lead but again we were denied by the crossbar.
Just before halftime, Stones number 4 held the ball up strongly and played there number 7 in as he finished calmly to take us in level at halftime. The boys were understandably a little disappointed as they’d been the better side for the first 45 minutes but only found themselves level. Stone had scored from there only opportunity.
Second half, Stone came out fired up, but the boys soon took control, again creating chances. Harry scored in the 60th minute which seemed to give the boys further confidence and control.
Lincoln put the game to bed with 6 minutes to go finishing from close range.
A real entertaining game, and a night at the Bet365 ground to come. Well done boys ⚽️⚽️⚽️

A very commanding win this morning for the boys.
We found ourselves ahead early in the game from a free kick from Chester with a little help from the weather!
Tom H doubled the lead with a great finish to take us 2-0 up at the break.
The boys came out and quickly got a third from a Harrison free kick. Stafford scored a well struck free kick before Amin hit back with a rocket straight away.
Tom H got his second of the game midway through the half to put the game to bed.
Stafford scored a consolation goal late on.

A real good performance by all the boys with Tuesday night’s Sentinel Cup semi final ahead.

A 2-2 draw for the boys this morning against Shifnal Town.
We went ahead in the first half with a goal from Billy. Shifnal pegged us back in the second half pouncing on an error, before Chester put us ahead again 2 minutes later. A penalty against us brought Shifnal level again. The boys tried hard to get another goal but we fell short. A good performance all around and onto next week.

Another game against Pelsall Villa Colts this season ending in a 2-2 draw.

The boys found themselves 2 goals behind after Pelsall went into an early lead with a lot of luck. The boys rallied well and got back to 2-1 before halftime from a headed goal by James B.

Second half the boys came out and dominated the whole half, the Pelsall keeper pulling off at least 3 top class saves to deny us scoring more. Whilst we got some luck in our equaliser, we definitely deserved a lot more from the game. We take the point and move onto next week.
