🖤🤍 COUNTY CUP VICTORY! 🏆⚽️

Our U11 Inter Girls are through to the next round of the Boys’ U12 County Cup after a brilliant win against Morpeth Town boys today! 💪🏼

We chose to play with the wind in the first half and created bags of chances, but it took an absolute screamer from Xanthe to put us 1-0 up at the break! 🚀

Second half, we had the wind against us, but the girls kept battling and playing some great football. Ellie-Mae then used her strength brilliantly to power her way through and grab herself two goals! ⚽️⚽️

We conceded late on from a long ball in behind, but overall a cracking performance from the girls and a well-deserved win! 👏🏼

The girls have also asked if we can introduce Parents’ Player and Coaches’ Player awards alongside our usual Opposition Player of the Match, so we’ll be doing all three moving forward! 🏆

Up against last season’s champions today and with no subs available due to our growing injury list:

🤕 Esmae

All I asked was that the girls gave me 100%, and they did exactly that. The scoreline was a tough one, but they worked their socks off against a bigger, older side and still came off the pitch smiling! 💪🏼⚽️

🖤🤍 Away day in the Scottish Borders for our Inter Girls! 🖤🤍

Really proud of the girls today. We battled, competed and played some great football against Berwick. We possibly should’ve had a penalty in the first half, but went into the break 0-0.

We unfortunately lost Tilly to injury early in the first half after a strong tackle, but the girls kept pushing and it was still goalless with just 8 minutes to play.

A goal from a corner followed by three quick-fire goals from long range and free kicks made it 4-0, but that scoreline definitely doesn’t reflect the game or how hard the girls worked today.

🖤🤍 FIRST GAME IN THE BOYS DIVISION! 🖤🤍

First one done playing a year up against the boys! ⚽️💪🏼

The difference in size and physicality was clear to see, but the girls weren’t phased one bit. They battled, competed for every ball and gave as good as they got from start to finish 👏🏼

A worldie strike from outside the box gave the opposition the lead, but there were loads of positives to take from our first competitive game.

And the weather… absolutely lashing down! 🌧️😂 Soaked to the skin, but the girls just got on with it!

🏆 Special mention to Emily, who was awarded the opposition’s Player of the Match on her competitive debut for City Juniors! 🧤👏🏼 What a way to start!

🖤🤍 OPEN DAY VICTORY! 🖤🤍

Our U12 Inter Girls kicked off their season at Benwell today, playing a year up and what a start! 🙌🏼⚽️

We went into half-time 1–0 up and probably didn’t want the whistle to come with the momentum we had! The opposition came out strong after the break and scored twice in quick succession to turn the game around.

But the girls didn’t let their heads drop. They kept playing our football, worked their socks off and showed brilliant determination to fight back and get the win 💪🏼

🏆 Special mention to Elsie, who was awarded the opposition’s Player of the Match. She read the game brilliantly and seemed to intercept absolutely everything today! 👏🏼

What an experience for our girls today! 🖤🤍

They ran their socks off, got stuck in and managed to score four goals against Manchester City’s Academy, a real credit to their effort and determination.

There was plenty of praise from their coaches and parents from the sidelines

Super proud of this group. They did themselves, their families and the club proud, and their behaviour throughout the whole day was impeccable.
