We are incredibly proud of one of our participants, who has been awarded a British Horse Society Certificate of Commendation through the Changing Lives Through Horses programme. 🐴❤️

This award recognises the exceptional progress, commitment and personal growth he has shown throughout his time with us.

It has been wonderful to watch his confidence, resilience and skills develop, and to see just how far he has come. This is such a well-deserved achievement and something he should be incredibly proud of.

Hi I am Josie

In Spring 2026 I joined the Changing Lives Team here at Quarry Farm.
As a child I spent every spare moment I had at my local riding school - weekends, after school, school holidays - you couldn't keep me away! I have now been coaching for seven years and it is so rewarding giving back the enjoyment I had (and still do) of being around the horses and other people who love them just as much.

Outside of work I love the beach, and generally exploring the outdoors with my Border Collie, Dottie.

‘CLTH at quarry farm has made such a difference to my child. She always looks forward to going each week, which isn’t something we’ve always been able to say about other activities. Being around the horses has really helped with her confidence and she has become much more willing to give things a go.

The staff really understand her and know when to encourage her and when she needs a bit of space. She always come home proud of what she’s done and always have something to tell us. It’s lovely seeing her enjoy learning again !’

Hi im Katie, Ive been around horses all my life, my mum is a coach too. I first started riding at age 2 in my local riding school, before going on to have my own horses and ponies.

I always wanted to work with horses and previously competed in show jumping, alongside producing young horses but i now soley focus on teaching.

My coaching style is collaborative, positive and i love helping riders achieve their goals, build confidence and have a greater understanding in all aspects of riding and horsecare.

Jemma – Yard Manager & Partner

Jemma is the Yard Manager and Partner at Quarry Farm, bringing over 20 years of riding experience and 10 years as a coach. She is incredibly passionate about her work and loves supporting young people, helping them build confidence, skills and a real connection with horses.

A dedicated dressage rider, Jemma trains to Advanced Medium level and is always keen to continue developing both herself and her horses.

She’s also known for being warm, hardworking and beautiful inside and out.

Little-known fact: Jemma is allergic to grapes!

Hi, I’m Kristy (you will probably hear me called Kristy Mills, apparently I need full naming 🤷‍♀️).

I’ve been riding since I was very very small, helped out with Junior Pony Club when I was barely classed a senior, and have been coaching since I left school.

I love to try and help each individual flourish in their own way and find their confidence to do so.

I was an eventer when I was younger, I’d love to get back to it if the chance ever came up again, but for now I’ll have to live vicariously through my daughter and clients!

Meet Rosie 👋

Rosie is the proprietor of Quarry Farm, which she established over 20 years ago. She has a particular passion for Alternative Provision and loves seeing the difference that working with horses can make to young people — watching their confidence, skills and independence grow is one of the most rewarding parts of her job.

Away from work, Rosie is happiest with her horses and is currently working her way back to the saddle after a spinal injury. She also loves walking Loki, spending time with Ryan, and has a real love of interiors and renovating. 🐴🐾🏡

I started riding at an early age and knew I wanted to work with horses. I've been a coach for 15 years and I love it. I'm incredibly passionate about developing a love for learning and watching people develop confidence and skill.

And we’re back! 🐴❤️

This week we’re welcoming our CLTH students back to Quarry Farm after the summer holidays, as well as saying hello to some new faces joining us for the first time!

We’ve got lots planned for the year ahead and we can’t wait to get stuck back in with the horses, learning new things and working towards lots of new achievements along the way.

We’ve also been busy behind the scenes over the summer making some exciting changes… 👀

We can’t wait to see what this year brings! 🐴
