Fun afternoon at Hartpury BS this afternoon. An unlucky pole for Chanson du Village in the Foxhunter but she felt super and Jimmy skipped round for 2nd in the 1m25 open in his usual exuberant manner. Big thanks to Aaron and Jez for helping and Chris and Jilly Baker who owns Chanson.

Time to Reintroduce Darcy beautiful 13.2hh Gypsy Cob mare rising 12 yrs. Superb jumping and hunting pony

Darcy has 3 good balanced paces and a very bold and honest jump. She happily jumps 80cm courses with scope for 90cm . She never spooky and will jump all fillers show jumping and is equally bold cross country over water, ditches, steps etc. Fun and forward, but snaffle mouth. She is excellent to hack alone and in company and never phased by anything; dogs, lorries tractors, hedgecutters etc. Easy to ride and lead and good with other horses.

I sold Darcy 2 years ago to Vanessa who owns Fairfields Stables for her daughter Beth then 10 yrs old. She has been the most fantastic second pony and Beth has had huge fun with her all Pony club activities including camps, cross country eventing, fun rides, team chasing hunting and even pony racing. She has hunted regularly the past 2 seasons with the Ross Harriers and really is the ultimate hunter; forward without being strong or silly giving Beth lots of confidence to even go alone.

Darcy is a real character and very intelligent and independent. She will happily stay on her own in the field or stable. She does need time to get to know a new person and can sometimes need a treat to catch. She is fine to clip her body and mane but is sensitive on her legs and head where you need a lot of patience or sedation. . Great to lead shoe, load and travel.

Darcy is a kind and affectionate mare, but is grumpy to have her girth done up which hasn't changed in 2 yrs so just needs to be tied on a short rope. Has been scoped for ulcers and it was totally clear. She has also had regular physio and has had no injuries or been sick or sorry. Up to date with vaccinations, worming etc Happily lives out and low maintenance.

Very sadly outgrown after 2 great years, Darcy is looking for a knowledgeable new home with a confident child, teenager or small adult to go out and have lots of fun. Not for anyone novice or at all nervous as she is a forward going feisty pony

Busy time with two more horses finding homes this week. Gorgeous Millie who is going to have such a fun time with new owner, Natalie and Moon an amazing Connie cross Pony club all rounder who was snapped up immediately by Vanessa for daughter Beth without me even advertising. What a lucky girl she is! As such i have immediate space for selling, backing and training livery. Lots of clients currently looking for their next partner. Stunning homebred 17HH Warmblood x TB gelding by Black Jack 17hh rising 10 years. 3 elegant balanced paces he is beautifully schooled with a soft mouth and very rideable, judges love him. Also incredibly honest and bold jump, never spooks and happily goes off any stride.
Whilst a tall horse he doesnt ride big and easily managed by myself at 5'2 and 7 1/2 stone. Doesnt need riding every day but comes out each time with a smile on his face.
Thomas has competed BE90 and unaffiliated eventing plus show jumping to 1m, riding club, fun rides and hunting with amateur lady owner. He has also been used for Pony Club B tests as he is that easy, but still has that spring in his step and wow factor to satnd out from the crowd.
100% to hack alone or in company, nothing phases him and a complete gentleman in every way to handle. Good to box, shoe, clip and travels in horsebox or trailer.
The ultimate schoolmaster at grassroots level but could easily progress on with the right rider.

Thomas does have a couple of medical issues which in no way effects his performance in any way or require maintenance that can be discussed . As such he is a real bargain to the right home only. Newent GL181LR

Slightly belated post from Veterans Major Tour CSI. had a fabulous few days picking up 1st, 2nd , 3rd and 6th and over £400 prize money which covered our costs! On the last day in the CSIV Major Final Jimmy set a fantastic time in the jump off only to be bettered by the last rider to go (the very speedy !) by just 600th of a second! However i couldnt be disappointed as Jimmy jumped two impeccable rounds and looking back i can see where i could have been even quicker! We both had a great time in the sunshine and the organisation was faultless and so friendly. Jimmy was super relaxed and very impressed with the quality of the Chard grass, keeping my right hand man very busy😁 Also got to watch lots of quality jumping with lots of top names including both John and Michael Whittaker and i am now itching to tackle some bigger tracks at international level. Who needs the sunshine tour when you have Somerset in sunny April. Big thanks to Emma Jane Gardiner and .showjumping for looking after the horses at home and for all the training.
