Another Saturday, another impressive performance and another three points for Newport.

Newport welcomed Leven to The Crook on Saturday in what was billed as another massive league game.

The home side started brightly and took the lead when a dangerous Harry Urban corner was turned into the Leven net by an away defender.

It was soon 2-0 after some brilliant build-up play down the left resulted in Urban cutting the ball across the face of goal, with Craig Kemlo on hand to finish from close range.

Newport added a third before half-time. More superb link-up play created the opportunity, with Connor Anderson bundling the ball home from close range to give the hosts a commanding lead at the break.

The home side came flying out of the blocks in the second half and, just two minutes after the restart, Ross Anderson scored his first goal for the club. It was a fitting reward for an excellent individual performance in the middle of the park.

A flurry of substitutions from the home side saw the game lose some of its flow, but Newport regained their composure as the match entered its latter stages.

Substitute Ben Kane added a fifth from close range before Matthew McDougall produced a brilliant finish beyond the onrushing goalkeeper to round off an impressive afternoon for Newport.

A dominant performance, six goals and another three points — another Saturday to remember at The Crook.

Back at The Crook on Saturday 🏡

19/09/2026

Saturday saw Newport travel to Kennoway in what already felt like a must-win game.

The away side came flying out of the traps, playing with intensity, purpose and fluidity. It wouldn’t be long before their dominance paid off, as Connor Anderson found Owen Phillips inside the box, who finished brilliantly to give Newport the lead.

It was déjà vu shortly afterwards, with Anderson once again finding Phillips in the box. Phillips showed great hunger and determination to get on the end of it and find the back of the net for his second of the afternoon.

Newport were stunned early in the second half, however, as the strong home side scored twice inside the opening three minutes to turn the game on its head.

Despite the setback, Newport regained their composure and showed fantastic resilience to bounce back and take control of the game once more.

A fantastic strike from outside the box by Luke O’Brien put the away side deservedly back in front.

Newport would soon extend their lead when Sy Coventry chased down a through ball and pressured the goalkeeper into an error. Coventry was alert enough to capitalise, sparking huge celebrations from the travelling Newport team.

The home side continued to threaten late on, but Leighton Quinn atoned for an earlier error with an excellent save low to his right.

That would prove to be the final real opportunity, as Newport ran out 4–2 winners and returned home with all three points.

On a day when every single player stepped up and could easily have been named Man of the Match, it’s incredibly tough to pick out one individual.

However, Connor Anderson deserves the recognition. Two assists, endless energy and outstanding defensive work made him a constant influence throughout the game and a key part of Newport’s fantastic comeback victory.

⭐️Craig Kemlo - four goals and two assists for the frontman today. Awesome display.

Newport put on a dominant and impressive display against Inverkeithing on a blustery day at the Crook.

The first half started well with Newport looking dangerous in the final third, it would, however, take 30 minutes before they found the back of the net. Craig Kemlo calmly laid the ball back to Matthew McDougall who slotted the ball low into the net.

The second would follow shortly afterwards when provider turned goal scorer. Harry Urban played the ball into Kemlo who finished confidently.

The flood gates would open in the second half with Newport scoring another five without reply. Three of the five scored by the lethal Kemlo with McDougall adding a second and the returning Sy Coventry contributing to an impressive day at the office for the home side.

On an afternoon of complete dominance, it’s important to mention that the defence dealt with everything that came their way with Harrison Cooper impressing on his debut for the club.
