🏴 AK Round 3: GYG 🏴
Overall positive result this weekend at the extremely fun and technical GYG karting circuit in North Wales. A great event once again held by Access Karting UK
Alex and Ewan put up great results in the final with a P2 from Ewan and P5 from Alex, Ewan loses the lead of championship but by only a handful of points heating up the championship battle with Christian. Alex matches his best Final result of 5th at a home race 🏴🏴
Tyler puts up a calm weekend without any serious dramas like at Whilton Mill and Clay Pigeon, but ultimately didn’t achieve the results he would’ve liked, despite technically getting some of his best results he’s had in a full grid championship round.
Overall, regardless of results we all had fun on and off track, especially at the very welsh GYG, being a twisty and hilly track. See you at Rowrah as we sadly miss the AK Festival at Buckmore.

Our first home race of the season! We head to for the 3rd round of Access Karting.
As usual we have Alex and Ewan in GX-UK Prokarts, Ewan will be looking to retain and extend his championship lead out of the weekend, while Alex will be looking to push himself up the championship table in his second round of the championship.
Tyler in GX-UK Senior will be looking for a cleaner weekend and is aiming to make some changes going into the weekend to make the transition from practice to heats more seamless to carry over the promising practice pace he has shown in certain sessions over the last 2 rounds

Mixed weather brings a mixed bag of results at Clay Pigeon Raceway for Round 2 of Access Karting UK
Alex puts in a solid weekend in his first championship round of the season, finishing 4th in heat 2, but a slight off in the final saw him finish 10th.
Ewan puts up a great effort to retain his championship lead with wins and podiums in the heats, but the final saw him face some issues taking him from podium contention down to 5th, but he still leads the championship by 1 point!
Tyler shows some improvements in practice but many mistakes made in mixed conditions during the heats and B final, but a confident wet race without incidents in Heat 6 was a positive despite losing some positions.
Overall, not the weekend we would’ve wanted at TSR but was a great time on and off the track with the great people among the paddock, looking forward to GYG!

Getting ready for Round 2 of Access Karting UK. May 16th-17th at Clay Pigeon Raceway.
Tyler will race in GX-UK Senior
Alex and Ewan racing in GX-UK Prokarts
Ewan will be hoping to continue his winning streak to gain championship momentum, as Alex heads into his first championship round of 2026. Tyler will be hoping to be less of a melon as he takes on a familiar track.
Being a familiar track to us all, we hope it will be a great round to remember!

Ups and downs on kerbs and results.
Ewan achieved his maiden final/overall event win for GX-UK Prokarts, ruthless consistency saw him win by over 8 seconds ahead of Peter Stott, defending champion.
Tyler had a mare but some promising pace at different points during the weekend, thanks to for supplying a new stub axle which allowed Tyler to continue after damage in Heat 5
Overall an excellent weekend with Ewan achieving his and first win.

Polar opposite results at Team Sheep for Round 1 of Access Karting UK 2026 at Whilton Mill.
Ewan achieved his maiden final/overall event win in GX-UK Prokarts, the first win for Team Sheep. Ruthless consistency saw Ewan take the win by 8.6 seconds ahead of Peter Stott, defending champion. It was also 5 years to the date of Ewan and his family losing his bamp, making the win feel even more meaningful. Ewan is hoping to continue this momentum into rounds to come in order to mount his championship challenge.
Tyler had a valuable learning experience, between mechanical faults with chainguards causing a retirement and damage due to spinning off track and getting hit by another driver, bending a stub axle and steering column in the process, it certainly was a tough time. However, through perseverence and some help from the friendly drivers in the paddock he was able to get the kart into a driveable state to continue racing, resulting in a 20th place finish in the B Final. While the result wasn't at all what he would've wanted, practice showed some potential in pace and he just needs to up his racecraft and pre-race checks to ensure better results moving forward.
Next round is at Clay Pigeon, a track each driver is familiar with, and Alex Mayes returns to racing duties. Should be a great weekend of racing for Team Sheep.
