Day 6

Wow! Look at the stunningly beautiful Rosemary Beetle sunning itself on the rosemary bush.

Day 5

Today we ventured into the garden in our bare feet. The grass was 'nice' 'cold' 'tickly' 'soft' 'bit spiky' and 'squidgy'.
We also walked on the bumpy pebbles, the smooth steps and rough tarmac.

Day 3

We read a book (Betsy Buglove and the Lucky Ladybirds by Catherine Jacob) and decided to make our own bug hotel for the bugs in our garden. We collected lots of sticks, pine cones, leaves, hay, moss and paper which we put in toilet rolls, and stacked them in a box. We found a sheltered spot under a tree, and can't wait to see what bugs will make it their home.

Day 2

Today we've been talking about what bees, butterflies, beetles and ladybirds need in the garden, and we've planted our 30 Days Wild seeds. We can't wait to see what minibeasts visit us when they have grown.

Day 1

And so we start our 30 Days Wild.
I'm looking forward to lots of wild adventures and experiences.

This morning, I stood enjoying the light drizzle and coolness after the heat of the past week whilst admiring the water droplets on the Ladies Mantle.

☀️ We have had the most brilliant day today. We set off early, and arrived at Saltburn Beach before anyone else!
We have played in the sand, made rock faces and pebbly ice creams - we then had real ice cream!
There was lots of running around the beach, jumping in the sea and chasing the waves. We even had fish and chips (plus cucumber and fruit) for lunch!

This is going to be lots of fun. Which is your favourite?

Scarecrow entries are now closed and maps have been made and are in Moorside Store and Daisy Garden Centre for you to buy!! Thank you to everyone who entered we have a big 35 entries thank you so much!!!
Maps are £2 each which includes a raffle ticket which will be drawn on Sunday 31st at 3 30pm at the scout hut where we will be selling drinks and some yummys cakes, having some games and lots of chat!! You will also be able to vote for you favourite scarecrow!!! Who will be this years winner?????

Every section of the scouts are super excited and we look forward to see Kirkbymoorside filled with scarecrows on the 29th to the 31st may!!
