Match Report vs Bilton Ajax

What a performance from the team today against Bilton Ajax — one to be extremely proud of.

From the very first whistle, we flew out of the blocks and immediately set the tone. Our intensity, movement and quality in possession were outstanding. We controlled the tempo, retained the ball superbly and played some of the best football we’ve produced all season. The early dominance paid off in style.

⚽ 1–0: (9) opened the scoring with a stunning volley — a brilliant strike that gave the keeper no chance.
⚽ 2–0: (12) reacted quickest in the box to finish like a true poacher, capitalising on great attacking play. Assist from (9).
⚽ 3–0: (8) capped off a dominant first-half display with a fantastic volley of his own. (8) was immense in midfield today, controlling the game and driving us forward.

It could easily have been more before the break — we created around 12 chances in the first half alone. Defensively, we were organised and disciplined, limiting Bilton to very few opportunities. When they did manage to break through, (1) was back to her absolute best, producing some excellent saves and showing great awareness to read the game.

In the second half, Bilton came into the game a little more, but we remained the dominant side. We continued to create chances, only to be denied by some strong goalkeeping at the other end. Our work rate and commitment never dropped, and the team adapted brilliantly to a new approach we introduced — the players took to it like ducks to water.

Overall, myself and Scott couldn’t be happier with every single player’s contribution. It was a complete team performance, full of effort, quality and togetherness across the pitch.

Well done today, Hunters!

A fantastic 1–0 victory against a strong side currently sitting 5th in the league above us. This was an outstanding team performance from start to finish.

We absorbed pressure well, stayed composed, and played our game throughout. On another day we could have added more goals, but credit to the opposition goalkeeper who had an excellent game.

A clean sheet for no.1 and the defence — superb work all round. It was also great to see no.1 back to her best, showing real bravery coming off her line to collect anything loose.

Defensively, we were excellent and very well drilled. 8 and 17 are really beginning to form a strong partnership at the back.
The midfield was a little chaotic at times but worked hard and got the job done.
Our strikers worked well and created chances — on another day they could easily have had more goals.

This weekend, we travel to Daventry to face Drayton Grange FC — a side we previously overcame in an exciting 6–4 victory.
The team has trained well, spirits are high, and we’re ready for another strong performance.
