Presentation day for the Magpies.
Time to reflect, enjoy and celebrate the amazing season we had.

We set up big goals for us this season, some might say we failed short, some might say we aimed to big, we would love to say that the girls done exceptionally well in what turned up to be a difficult season.

Playing one third of the season in three weeks out of 22 games since September meant that for large periods of time we had no games, hard to keep it going, hard to keep any momentum or even motivation.

Winning the league with no defeats is a high achievement, this comes on the back of the last two seasons with only winning our league games even though it was not competitive.

Cup games has been our handicap, something to work on, nevertheless achieving two cup finals in three years is a very good reason to celebrate.

Today we lifted the league cup, and awarded individual awards.
Everyone was a winner, in a team sport, all players are very important in any individual award, no one wins alone.
Key moments of our season:

Reaching a cup final
Holland tour
League winner ๐Ÿฅ‡

Individual awards:

Top goal scorer
Schmitz

Players player
Furtado

Parents player
Furtado

Most improved player
Oโ€™Sullivan

Managers player
Furtado

Despite our defeat, the girls walked off to huge applause โ€” a reflection of their progress, their character and the pride theyโ€™ve brought to the club..

A JOURNEY BUILT ON BELIEF

Four years ago, the idea of a Moulton Magpies U12 Girls team was just a dream. A small group of enthusiastic girls turned up every Sunday morning, eager to play but without a team to join. Early setbacks delayed their start, but their passion never faded.

As the 2023/24 season approached, all they needed was a coach โ€” and they got three. A dedicated dad stepped forward, soon joined by an uncle and another parent. Together, they built a team that grew stronger every week, playing with heart, discipline and belief.

Their hard work paid off:
League Champions and now Cup Finalists.
A remarkable achievement for a team only just beginning its story.

BIG APPLAUSE TO SYL ๐Ÿฉต

16/05/2026

League cup final today.
Played SYL, a strong opponent with so many great players.
The girls wanted to add the cup to our league win, but it just wasnโ€™t meant to be.
We started well, controlling the game but no clear chances for either side.
An unusual mistake from our side gave SYL the lead, then we were up against it.
We fought hard to get back in the game, but very unsuccessful.
Second half we changed our formation after 10 minutes, we hit the post, but soon after, SYL increased the lead with a deflection shot that hit the back of the net.
The team never found any way back, and a superb free kick sealed the win to SYL.
3-0 defeat was a heavy score line, but SYL were the worthy winner today, they showed more resilience, more believe than us today.
This does not take away the excellent season our girls had, with one more league game left, we won the league, and can finish the league unbeaten for the third season in a row.
Parents and coaches are very proud of the journey the girls had so far, and today will be a massive learning in their journey.
Very well done to both teams for the great game, very well done to the Magpies for the exceptional season so far ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

On the back of winning the league last Thursday, we played Harborough again today.
Another good display from our girls. kept the game under control despite conceding an early shot on target from Harborough.
After that, the game was played in one half, but our girls in defence had to work hard to keep the ball away from our goal.
McGrath was on fire today, got herself an hat trick, with Schmitz and Oโ€™Sullivan also on the scoreboard.
This concludes a 7 games strike in 3 weeks, that resulted in 7 wins and winning the league in the meantime.
Time to rest and prepare the League cup final Saturday.
Well done girls, you all have been extraordinary this season ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
Hales was deservedly awarded POTM form our parents ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS
After a long season, and with still two games in hand, we can celebrate.
A great win today against a good side Market Harborough.
The game was well in control, some great football was played to help the celebrations.
Schmitz got a hat trick, and all girls were rightly given POTM today.
This season is only a continuation of a great journey for most of our girls.
Keep up the good work girls, we will find the time to celebrate properly as tomorrow is another school day ๐Ÿ˜‚

Big game for the girls Thursday.
History could be made.

02/05/2026

Our girls played Blisworth today.
It was important to start strong today, but we struggled a bit. Blisworth were defending with a lot of players behind the ball, that caused us a few problems, also when attacking, Blisworth had also a lot of players forward, their transition was very good.
We caused a few small problems to Blisworth defence once we settled, we had a goal disallowed for offside, but not long after, Schmitz found the back of net.
Second half with more subs, we controlled the game, and the goals came through Oโ€™Sullivan and Hogan.
Piercy was voted POTM by our parents.

A clash of title contenders today on our short trip to play SYL.
Hard game, in a very difficult pitch.
Our girls had to work hard today against a very good team, very technical with lots of wonderful players.
First half with no goals, and not many chances for either team, SYL had in fact the best chance.
Second half a few more chances for both teams, our girls managed to be more clinical in front of the goal, and we found the net twice through Hogan.
SYL reduced our advantage with a wonderful goal in the final few minutes of the game.
Very well done to both teams.
Dolan was our POTM chosen by the parents and backed by all coaches.
Keep up the good work girls ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

A difficult fixture today, we hosted Corby, that is always a hard game.
We started strong, controlling the game playing excellent football.
The goal came naturally, but Corby goalkeeper had an excellent performance today, delaying our goal for a long time.
Second half we kept on playing well, controlling the game, and scoring another goal pretty much with the last kick of the match.
Schmitz got herself a hattrick, and was voted POTM by our parents.
Well done Magpies.
