Recently I did a 28 Day Reset.
Not because I thought I’d change my life in 28 days
Not because I’d “fallen off” again
Not because I was severely unfit
But because I’m building something for dads…
and I don’t want to put anything out there I haven’t tested on myself first.
After 28 days Here’s what I learned.
I forgot what hunger feels like.
Not starving.
Not suffering.
Just… hungry.
I got comfortable with nipping to the snack cupboard or finishing the kids leftovers
And the hunger feeling is uncomfortable when you’ve spent years eating out of habit.
I realised I can sit with discomfort for a but and even embraced the silence
I didn’t need to fix the craving immediately with snacks, leftovers off the kids’ plates or “I deserve this” treat like I’m a fuking dog
I kept myself busy during fasting windows when I didn’t plan I struggled
Training stayed simple.
3 Training sessions per week no more than 45 minutes
Running stayed consistent > more of a priority as I want to get my 5k time below 23mins
Nothing extreme really…I probably could have been better
And that’s the point.
In 28 days you’re not going to fix your entire life.
But you can:
– Build momentum and habits
– Rebuild discipline which you may have lost
– Prove you can stick to something without committing to long term programs
– Start leading by example for your kids
For me?
I’ll carry on.
Keep running to get my times down
Lift more to make sure Jade still finds me attractive
Move better to play with the kids
Drop a bit more weight because who wants love handles for summer?
For you?
If you’re waiting for motivation, hacks or the “perfect time”…
It’s probably not coming.
But I have something coming for you
More on that soon.

Not going to lie…
It’s not how I expected Week 3 to end.
3 weeks into my Dad Bod Reset (launching 9th March).
Everything was moving.
6kg down.
Running consistently and actually… enjoying it.
Mobility improving.
Strength holding.
Energy high.
Present with the kids.
It felt good.
Then Saturday…
Went for a run.
And BAM.
Allergic reaction.
Swollen eyes.
Chest rash.
Coughing.
Now it could’ve been:
Food I ate before running
Overheating
Exercise-induced reaction
It’s happened before, so I knew the drill:
Cold shower.
Antihistamine.
Slow breathing.
Still…
Out of all the obstacles I expected during a 28-day reset…
That wasn’t one of them.
But
You will ALWAYS hit obstacles.
If your goal is:
Fat loss.
Running a PB.
Building a business.
Being more present with your kids.
Something will try and knock you off track.
The difference?
Most people use it as an excuse.
Plan of action:
Back to the diet.
Back to training.
Back to structure.
No drama. No spiral. No “I’ll start Monday.”
Because the goal isn’t 28 perfect days.
It’s becoming the Dad who doesn’t blow it when things get tough.
Here’s to Week 4.
Hopefully training normal…
Eating well…
And not looking like the Elephant Man.
