With a busy schedule now ahead it was our first midweek match and we new it was going to be a physical one! Higham have games in hand and looking like a front runner to push for the title! Not sure they were expecting the young Harpole ready for a battle! Although we looked the more likely to score early on we unfortunately gifted Higham a early goal, this seemed to spur us on even more, we began to play our passing game and we were testing Higham all over the pitch. Well deserved team build up goal from the back came, Amelia beating Higham’s fullback for Sophie to finish Amelia’s perfect front post cross 1-1 ! The first half continued with our possession and strong back line dealing with Higham’s long ball threat! Going toe to toe in every one on one was the key! Not letting the experience of Higham intimidate us! Although Higham came out strong in the second half our defensive play was stronger all over the pitch! The last 30 minutes felt like a life time as if it wasn’t for some heroic saves from Higham’s keeper we could’ve easily walked away 5-1! Just didn’t fall in the box! Unfortunately That’s football ! Even though only the point it felt like a win showing grit determination and team work for the whole 90 minutes! A complete team performance 🏆Bring on the next challenge 👍⚽️🤍🖤

Seems a life time since we last played so it was nice to be at home and we were keen to keep the pressure on the top of the table! We did just this, showing a controlled performance throughout. The first half saw us camped in Moulton’s half as we were working on a different shape to our play! Unfortunately we couldn’t capitalise on our possession and some great saves including a penalty save from Moulton’s keeper gave them a little hope going into the second half. The second half showed how strong we are as a squad and we kept adapting our positions to suit the play! It was only a matter of time before we got on the scoresheet, huge team build up play and a driving run from Phoebe who saw the keeper off her line and she struck from outside the box to go 1-0 up! We then pushed for more and a clean strike into the left corner from a Sharpe turn in the box from Billie took us to 2-0, although we pushed for more, Moulton held their own and frustrated us in places. Huge squad performance, a clean sheet and solid defensive play all over the pitch gave us the next gear, but just edging the POM honours with a solid defensive display was Maisie with a big step up from the reserves 👍⚽️

We could not be prouder of all our people involved in Harpole FC. A huge congratulations to Joe Douglas, head of football development and manager for our ladies and men’s reserve team and Emmy Somauroo ladies player and photographer as well as Young Volunteer at the FA for their nominations for the Northamptonshire FA Awards 2026!

Jody Douglas is up for the Bobby Moore award. This award recognises outstanding people who shape grassroots football, going above and beyond in their local community. Joe does so much to support the clubs development within the community and dedicates most of his time to the club! He thoroughly deserves this recognition!

Emmy Somauroo, who plays for our Ladies Team, is up for the New Volunteer of the Year Award. Emmy is an asset to the club, as she plays and volunteers her time supporting both the ladies teams with her wonderful digital photography skills,helping us to beautifully capture and share our teams in action!

It’s an honour to have 2 outstanding individuals within our club up for these nominations.

As part of the shortlisting process, the judging panel will consider both the number of nominations received and the quality of the nomination(s).
