First Wednesday ride of the season saw two groups taking to the roads, the intermediates with an average of 13.5mph and the advanced with an average of 15.3mph, a great effort from both rides!
We had a proper blast down our favourite roads and then slowed on the hills back home.
It was lovely to see faces we haven't seen out as much over winter too.
We couldn't have had a nicer evening for it either, here's to many more Wednesday evening out on the road!

Hmmm - do we go North or South to catch it?
News: Tour of Britain 2022 -- Never before will the Tour of Britain have started so far north than when Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire hosts the race’s Grand Départ on Sunday 4 September, one year on from the region welcoming the final stage of the 2021 race. The Tour will start in the city of Aberdeen, where a full weekend of activities to run alongside the race, including the Scottish Cycling Criterium Championships, is planned. The stage will finish in spectacular style in Aberdeenshire, taking a different route to the one raced in 2021, which will bring the event into the heart of brand new communities.
For the third edition running, Scotland will host multiple days of the race as a part of the country’s continuing commitment to hosting world-class racing ahead of the 2023 UCI Cycling Worlds, with more details and the location of the second stage to be announced in due course. The Tour’s first foray into England comes on stage three, which will take in the North East and Sunderland. While a new venue to the modern race, Sunderland has recent experience welcoming cycling events, having hosted a round of the Tour Series domestic racing event last year.
The race’s fanbase will be buoyed by the news that the Tour will return to Yorkshire for stage four (Wednesday 7 September) for the first time since 2009, when York welcomed the opening day’s finish. A hotbed of cycling in the UK, a large crowd is anticipated for this stage, which will begin in the seaside town of Redcar, before finishing in North Yorkshire, and promises to be a must watch.

Musings about turbo sessions from my Zwift ride today, in no particular order - what would you add?
🚴♀️ Music choice is 🔑
Mumford & Sons is definitely too slow - Pink (explicit) is just perfect - annoyed, angry b***h gets you fired up!
And Sing your heart out!!!
🚴♀️ Turn your fan on at the start…..if it’s out of reach it’s useless! 💨
🚴♀️ Bottles won’t walk to the kitchen by themselves 😆 Two bottles needed for 1hr plus rides - work on 1 bottle an hour
🚴♀️ Towels need to be fresh for each ride….
And when you get hot - Strip off who cares!
🚴♀️Don’t clock watch, it’s a killer. Workout where you can have a view instead - today I watched the 🐑 antics across the fields.
🚴♀️ doesn’t matter where your pain cave is - inside or in the garage - only ever wear shorts! You’ll regret leggings after the first 10mins
🚴♀️ Glasses are not a good idea - unless fogged up helps mentally 😂 🤓
🚴♀️ Watch the weather with gay abandon - indoor is sweeter when the weather outside is Baltic And Wild 🥶
🚴♀️ Route hack: choose hilly routes ⛰ as a workout levels out the elevation and you don’t ‘feel’ the 10% ers in the same way
💡 Truth
⭐️ It hurts - it’s supposed to - dig in and suck it up princess!
⭐️ It’s not pretty - you will end up a red, sweaty mess
⭐️ Outside is better - but needs must! Time on the bike is time on the bike and saddle time will help in the spring!
⭐️ However tough, it won’t last….. don’t give up!
