Today saw the annual Sixfields tournament in sweltering conditions, very well done to all the teams that played in the heat, not easy for anyone, you should all be very proud. There was some wonderful football on display from all teams.
Our first game was against Forest Vets which was a complete shock to the system, Vets came away with a deserved 5-0 win.
Next up was Milton Keynes ladies, we just couldn’t get the ball in the net, we peppered their goal and managed to get a 1-0 win with a goal from Nikki.
Our final group game was against Kettering, a very close game that could of gone either way, Kettering scored first, with Nikki scoring again, to bring it back to a draw, but Kettering managed to grab a deserved winner.
We finished 3rd in the group which saw us face Kettering in the semi finals.
The Kettering ladies took a well deserved lead but our persistence paid off and scored a well deserved equaliser through Blandy. A bit of commotion ensued on the sideline as the referee was told by the Forest Vets ladies that the semi final should of only been 10mins long, the referee was not aware of this and was playing the 12 mins, We had actually equalised after the 10mins, the tournament officials were called across and admitted it was a fault on their part, both captains were called across and made aware of the situation, Rhonda offered for Kettering to go through with the 1-0 win, but the officials decided that as both teams didn’t know it should of only been 10 mins then the 1-1 would stand and the game would go to penalties.
Rhonda stepped up and scored the first penalty with a smart finish, she then went back into goal and Kettering’s first penalty was skied well over the cross bar, next up was Blandy who slotted her penalty home with a good finish.
Kettering’s second penalty was smartly saved by Rhonda which saw us go through.
On to the final where we met Forest Vets, it was a very close game, but we took a deserved lead through Leighanne with a great finish after a back heel assist from Rhonda. Forest vets managed to sn**ch a equaliser in the last few minutes, a penalty shoot out was to decide the final.
Nikki made two incredible saves and also stepped up to score her penalty and then the captain, Rhonda, stepped up to score the winner!
The whole squad was incredible and all played their part.
A big thank you to Jeanette, Tracey, Dot & Callum who came to support ❤️
It was so nice to see the team get to lift a trophy, they all work so hard in training and many tournaments with nothing to show for their efforts, so a big well done for keeping going and showing everyone what this club is all about, a club that sticks together!⚽️❤️

Yesterday saw us travel to Birmingham County FA HQ for the end of season showcase tournament, as always it was very well organised, a big thank you to Jay, Faye, Dee and all the ladies that made it happen, we had an incredible day, some of the best football I’ve seen from our ladies, unbeaten all day and only conceding 1 goal, 8 games played in total.
A massive shout out to Alex & Kez from Arden Forest who helped us out, both ladies were amazing and a great laugh.
Also big thanks to Mandy Gornicki who also came into the squad, quality as always.
A special mention about Kellie Ann, one of our own, who refereed for the very first time at the tournament, she did a fantastic job, very proud of her, while out injured she decided to do a referee course so she could still keep in with football in a different way ❤️
Our player of the year award was also presented yesterday, congratulations to our amazing coach Rhonda Stewart who walked away with the award, it was made all the more special by being presented by former lioness Rachel Unitt 🏆❤️⚽️

Sunday was the final round for the Northants spring league for the over 35’s and 50’s.
A great effort by both claret teams against some tough opposition, this season has been a massive learning curve, new players, injuries, but everyone gave it their all.
A big thank you to everyone that played and helped during the season, we couldn’t do it without a team effort from all.
Congratulations to Northants Falcons who made it a clean sweep in both leagues, watch out, we’ll be coming for you next season!

Sunday the ladies visited Castle Vale in Birmingham for the much anticipated Powerplay tournament, well done to Wendy L Benson for the idea and a massive thank you to all the ladies that made it possible, was a fantastic tournament, very well organised!
We had a tough group to begin with, but played some incredible football, we played Boldmere Bees in the first game and came away with a 1-0 victory with a goal from Nikki, second game saw us come up against our local rivals Kettering, their keeper was outstanding, she was peppered all game with shots from all angles, we just couldn’t get past her!
Third game was against the ladies from Long Eaton, such a lovely bunch, the football we played was amazing, first we saw our Jo get her first Birmingham goal and what a goal it was, the look on her face is the reason we all play, it was beaming! Moira scored our second with a lovely finish and then, we got a goal from Nikki in the final 2 mins which counted as 2, so 4-0 was the final result, this saw us top the group and head into the next round.
We played British all sorts to start, a 1-0 loss but the goal from them was an absolute screamer!
Second game we played Forest Vets and again a narrow 1-0 loss, although apologies to Danielle Pritchard, our Bradders tried to have the shirt off your back on more than one occasion, good sportsmanship from Danielle saved her from being blue carded! 🙈
Final game was against inkberrow who stuck it out to near the end but a great finish from Caz gave us the win.
A massive thank you to Caz and Jo for travelling down to support and help us, really appreciated it ❤️
Also another big thank you to Jeanette Richards for playing in goal all day for us, she pulled off some fantastic saves!
Well done to all the squad for travelling and making it a fantastic day.
The whole day was obviously topped off with getting to meet Sue Smith, what a lovely down to earth lady, there was definitely a lot of fan girling going on!
Congratulations to Forest Vets who went on to win our group 👏🏆⚽️❤️
