The Shell league is now underway, and the early league standings have Beccles Town Cricket Club and Snettisham CC at the top of their regional divisions.

There has already been some stand out performances with the bat: Amy Richford scoring an unbeaten 50 for Beccles against Acle Cricket Club and Lucie Durrant scoring 36 to help her club win a final over thriller against Denver Cricket Club.

The bowlers have been making their mark too, with Becca Warnes taking 4 for 4 off her 4 overs against Sprowston, and Kirstie Smith taking 4 for 15 off 4 overs against Brisley.

Poppy Alexander-Sinclair from Hethersett and Tas Valley Cricket Club is leading the way in the fielding statistics with 2 catches and a run-out!

A great opportunity to work in cricket on a part-time basis, as the EDI Officer

The Norfolk Cricket Foundation are recruiting for a part-time (3 days per week equivalent) member of staff to take on the important role of EDI Inclusion Officer within the county.

The Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Officer plays a vital role in delivering this vision by helping to make cricket as inclusive and accessible as possible throughout the county. As participation in the game continues to grow and reach new audiences, it is essential to diversify playing opportunities, broaden representation among those who lead and support the game, and foster a culture where everyone feels cricket is for themโ€”whether as a player, coach, official, volunteer, or supporter.

๐Ÿ‘ฉU18 Girls Hundred Cup๐Ÿ‘ฉ

This afternoon, at Postwick, was freezing ๐Ÿฅถ but the girls weren't too worried. Beccles won the toss and elected to field. Borley did the damage, taking 2 for 28 off 15 balls, with support from Stanton-Kelly & Sydenham who were both very economical in their spells. Barnes was the stand out batter scoring 40* from 40 balls, spending time at the crease with Bailey (24) and E.Borrett (21). Norwich finishing their 100 balls on 121 for 3.

Beccles batters McKinley (43 off 51) and Lowther (34* off 45) lead the response, keeping the target within reach. The Norwich team worked brilliantly, with some economic bowling, Barnes (1 for 12 off 15) and Jackson (1 for 25 off 15) taking the wickets, and excellent fielding, putting the pressure on the batters right up to the final ball with Beccles needing 5 to win! They posted a total of 117-2.

An absolutely fantastic game. Congratulations to both teams. Norwich walk away with the trophy ๐Ÿ†

Thank you to Norwich for hosting the whole day, and to Lucy for umpiring.
