Falls are not an inevitable part of ageing, and the right exercise programme can make a real difference.

A large systematic review exploring the Otago Exercise Programme highlighted some powerful outcomes for older adults living in the community.

Here is what the research shows:
• Fewer falls among participants who completed the programme
• Improved lower limb strength and better balance
• Greater confidence with everyday movements
• Increased independence in daily activities
• Strongest results seen in those already at higher risk of falling

Otago is a structured, evidence-based strength and balance programme that can be delivered at home with professional guidance.

It is safe, practical and proven to reduce fall risk without the need for medication.
Consistent, targeted movement really does matter. Supporting strength and balance today can protect independence tomorrow.
