🎉 One Year of Rise & Roam Walk & Talks 💙

It’s hard to believe that this week marks our one-year anniversary. Our very first Walk & Talk took place on 9th July last year, so tonight’s walk was the closest to celebrating a whole year of building friendships, supporting each other, and getting men talking.

What started as a simple idea has grown into something really special. Seeing nearly 20 people come along tonight, with so many smiles, laughs, conversations and new faces, reminds us exactly why we started. The photos, the views around Norwich, and the atmosphere speak for themselves. A warm summer evening, a gentle breeze, and great company... you couldn’t ask for much more for a lovely 3.6 mile walk.. we forgot to start Strava at the den!🤦🏻‍♂️😂

Every week, people come along for different reasons. Some come to clear their head. Some to make friends. Some for the exercise. Some because they simply don’t want to spend another evening on their own. Whatever your reason, there’s always a place for you.

💙 If you know a dad, brother, son, friend, colleague or neighbour who might benefit from getting out for a walk and having a chat, please tag them, share this post, or send it directly to them. You never know who might be waiting for someone to reach out. One message, one invitation, or one walk could make a real difference.

Finally, from all of us at Rise & Roam, thank you. Thank you to every single person who has joined us over the past year, supported us, encouraged others to come along, and helped create such an incredible community. This is only the beginning, and we can’t wait to see what the next year brings.

Here’s to many more miles, conversations, friendships, and memories together. 💙👣

Just wanted to let everyone know about our walk and talks in the up and coming weeks! Instead of two weeks from now, as we will be half way to Paris hopefully! We will be doing next week then 2 weeks after that, 8th & 22nd, 6pm The Lions’ Den

⚽➡️🚶‍♂️ England got the win... and then it was our turn!

With the match kicking off earlier in the evening, we pushed our Walk & Talk back a little later than usual so everyone could enjoy the football first.

We still wanted to be there, because no matter the time, creating a space for lads to come together is what matters most.

Despite the change, we still had a brilliant little group join us for another 3+ mile walk around our beautiful city. Plenty of laughs, great conversations, fresh air, and we even managed to capture some awesome photos along the way... including getting our new Rise & Roam flag out for its first proper outing! 💙

Every walk is another reminder that no one has to face things alone. Sometimes all it takes is a conversation while walking alongside someone who gets it.

If you’ve been thinking about joining us, we’d love to see you on the next one. And if you’ve already been along, we’d really appreciate your help in spreading the word.

🚶‍♂️ IMPORTANT WALK & TALK UPDATE – THIS WEDNESDAY (1st JULY) ⚽

This Wednesday is a little different!

With England kicking off at 5pm, we know a lot of our regular lads will be watching the game, so rather than canceling our weekly Walk & Talk, we’re simply moving it a little later.

📍 Meet: 7:00pm – 7:30pm
🚶 Walk starts: Around 8:00pm

The later start should also mean a much cooler evening after the recent heat, and although we’ll likely do a slightly shorter walk because of the time, the most important thing is that we’re still creating a space for lads to get together, have a chat, clear their heads, and support one another.

No matter how your week’s been, whether you’ve got something on your mind or just fancy getting out of the house for a couple of hours, everyone is welcome. You don’t have to be struggling to come along. Sometimes a walk, a laugh, and a good conversation are exactly what we all need.

⚽ Fancy watching the England game together first?

If any of our Walk & Talk regulars (or anyone thinking of coming for the first time) would like to meet up somewhere to watch the match together before heading over to The Lions Den for the walk, let us know! We’d love to make an evening of it and walk over together afterwards.

These evenings are all about building friendships, supporting one another, and reminding every lad that he doesn’t have to face life alone.

Bring a mate, share this post, or tag someone who you’d like to see come along. The more men we can reach, the bigger the difference we can make.

See you Wednesday! 💙👊

Saturday’s practice ride... complete! 🚲🔥

Practice Ride #4 saw us take on the journey from Norwich to Brandon, covering around 42 miles in some of the hottest conditions we’ve ridden in yet... temperatures pushing 35°C+! ☀️🥵

With 6 out of the 7 lads taking on our 400-mile BMX ride to Paris on 13th July, this was another huge step towards the challenge ahead. Despite the relentless heat, the pace was brilliant, the laughs never stopped, the conversations flowed all day, and the atmosphere was exactly what Rise & Roam is all about.

Massive respect to every one of the lads for turning up, putting in the miles, and staying committed to the training regardless of the conditions. It’s easy to stay home when it’s that hot... but this team continues to show up for each other.

These rides are about so much more than cycling.

They’re about proving that opening up doesn’t make you weak. They’re about creating friendships, building confidence, supporting one another, and showing that no man has to face life’s challenges alone. Every mile we ride is another conversation had, another barrier broken down, and another step towards removing the stigma surrounding men’s mental health.

On 13th July, we’ll set off from Norwich with one goal: to cycle 400 miles to Paris on BMX bikes. Not because it’s easy, but because if our challenge encourages even one man to reach out, speak up, or realise he’s not alone... every single mile will have been worth it.

If you’d like to support us, please consider donating, sharing our journey, or simply helping us spread the word. Every share helps our message reach someone who might need it.

Thank you to everyone following our journey so far. Paris is getting closer... 🇫🇷💙

🚲 Seat Time - Day 3 🇫🇷

Another brilliant evening getting the miles in as we prepare for our Norwich to Paris challenge on 13th July! 💪🇫🇷

This one was even more special as a few of the lads from our Wednesday Walk & Talk joined us for the ride. At one point someone said...

“It’s just like a Walk & Talk... but on wheels!” 🚴‍♂️💙

And honestly, that’s exactly what it felt like.

Great laughs, great conversations, stunning views, and even better company. That’s what Rise & Roam is all about – bringing people together, getting outdoors, and reminding each other that no one has to face life’s challenges alone.
We’ll keep sharing updates as training continues, so stay tuned! 👀

If you’d like to support our ride to Paris and help us continue raising awareness for men’s mental health, please consider donating or simply sharing one of our GoFundMe pages. Every donation and every share helps us reach more people and spread our message. 💙

🌅 Wednesday’s Walk & Talk 🌅

What an incredible evening we had this week at our Walk & Talk!

Despite England being on the TV, so many lads still made the time to come along, which speaks volumes about the importance of getting out, connecting with others, and making time for ourselves. 👏

We had one of our biggest groups yet, with a lovely handful of new faces joining us for the first time. From the moment we set off, there was a constant murmur of conversations, laughter, and support throughout the evening. It was fantastic to see so many people chatting, opening up, making new connections, and simply enjoying a relaxed walk through the beautiful streets of Norwich.

Sometimes it’s not about having a problem to solve or a struggle to share. It’s about getting out of the house, meeting good people, having a chat, getting some light exercise, and knowing you’re not alone.

Every week we’re reminded why Rise & Roam exists. The power of conversation, community, and simply showing up can make a real difference.

We’d love your help to continue spreading our message. Please:
