Curators’ Tour - Today!!

Starts at St. Margaret’s Church
2.30pm-3.30pm, tour of the church and church yard

Followed by walk (or drive) to Norfolk Wildlife Trust for continued tour 4pm-4.45pm

Every summer, Cley Contemporary Art offers locals, returning visitors and tourists the chance to encounter the perspectives of artists on their connections to Norfolk. This year guest curators Théodora Lecrinier and Hannah Turner Wallis of Dyad Creative have selected 40 works by 43 artists made in response to the brief Borderlines. The exhibits will be on show across St. Margaret’s Church, the church yard and Norfolk Wildlife Trust.

The curators put out Borderlines as an invitation to create work that might inquire into and push at the limits of both the site and the theme themselves. The work on show examines the boundaries between political bodies, bodies and their environment and between internal and external states, blurring the lines between the psychological, geographical and political. Through playing with the stresses and strains of physical, formal and conceptual borders, the artists and the curators hope to conjure the possibility for connection across the lines that claim to divide us.

As bank holiday hits, we are closing our doors for a few weeks here at Dyad Creative HQ. It has been a wonderful season and we are looking forward to the next when we return in September. We are both of us taking this time to travel, see family and rejuvenate, looking for new inspirations for the future.

Andi has travelled with us throughout the journey of the past four years and we owe him huge thanks for all his work and encouragement.

Four years ago took this photo of us as we stood on the cusp of everything we have created so far. Charting this journey over the past few months through various talks and publications has allowed us to understand what has passed and where we may go in the future

When we return in September after our summer break, we are looking forward to using new found inspirations from our travels to continue exploring our practice as Dyad Creative

Wishing you all happy bank holidays and summer times!
Bisous xx
