What does the word wellbeing mean to you? What images does it
conjure up?
The word wellbeing means different things to different people and has
become a bit of a buzz word in recent times. Wellbeing is subjective and
can change over time.
In positive psychology a widely accepted model of wellbeing is Martin
Seligman’s PERMA framework. Each letter is a different pillar of wellbeing.
Positive emotions like joy, gratitude, hope and love help us to have a positive outlook and build resilience. They can make us more likeable and able to see more of the
world around us.
Engagement of our strengths and things that come naturally to us. Sometimes known as ‘flow’. Using our strengths effectively.
Relationships are key. Having positive connections with others (friends, family, colleagues) can amplify positive emotions.
Meaning – our jobs have a positive impact on others. Having and living purposefully can help us live well.
Accomplishment – more important than believing in your abilities is the
belief that you can improve your abilities. Pursuing and achieving goals.
Over the next 5 weeks we will go deeper on each of the pillars and give you strategies to boost each of the pillars.

Use the template or draw a wheel (circle) on a piece if paper. Split into 8 sections and choose the categories
Relationship/romance/significant other/love
Friends/family
Recreation
Personal development
Work/career
Finance
Health
Spirituality
Rate each section out of 5 (or 10)
Then join up the sections so you have a wheel.
How bumpy is your wheel?
Ask yourself these questions:
1. How do you feel about your life as you look at your Wheel?
2. Are there any surprises for you?
3. How do you currently spend time in these areas?
4. How would you like to spend time in these areas?
5. What would make that a score of 10?
6. What would a score of 10 look like?
7. Which of these categories would you most like to improve?
8. How could you make space for these changes in your life?
9. What help and support might you need from others to make changes and be more satisfied with your life?
10. And what change do you want to make first?
11. What is the smallest step you could take to get started?
12. If there was one key action that would begin to bring everything into balance, what would it be?
Use the wheel of life to focus your energy for the end of 2025 and onwards into 2026

The Final Stretch of 2025: Protect Your Peace
We’ve made it to the last two months of the year — the season of reflection, celebration, and (let’s be honest) a little bit of chaos. Before you pour energy into everything and everyone else, remember this: you deserve to support yourself too.
Slow down when you can.
Say “no” when you need to.
Check in with yourself as often as you check your messages.
Rest isn’t a reward — it’s a necessity.
Let’s close out 2025 not by burning out, but by honouring our own wellbeing. Here’s to ending the year calm, grounded, and ready for what’s next.
You don’t have to finish the year “strong.”
You just have to finish it well.
Take some time to support your wellbeing, fill your own cup, and give yourself the same care you give everyone else.
Starting tomorrow 1st November, join me each week for a tip to give your wellbeing a boost.

Character strengths enable us to put our values, what’s in our head and hearts, into action.
When you tap into your character strengths you are being your authentic self and expressing your best qualities. This can help you take your other strengths to the next level. For example you may have an incredible talent for athletics, but you need the character strengths of perseverance and self-regulation to become an Olympian. Studies have found that the development of our character strengths come with many benefits including improvements in engagement, creativity and satisfaction with work.
Your signature strengths - your top five character strengths - are most central to who you are and best capture your uniqueness or essence. They are also energizing to use and more natural to express.
