SUPER Kirkby colts reds

2025/2026 first winter competitive game of the season yesterday away against Robin Hood colts for the SUPER REDS 🔴

Lovely brisk morning on a great surface down at Robin Hood.

First half - took us 5-10mins for the team to settle down and start to find a rhythm in the game with a high press and getting the ball wide making the pitch big to stretch Robin Hood creating gaps and space in-between the lines
Where natye took no time in linking up with Charlie and G scoring 2 in a matter of minutes to settle the team down.
But it was clear Robin Hood was a yard off the lads conceding a penalty where Mason after natye being a good team mate let him step because Mason hasn’t scored for the team in 2/3 years - Mason calmly slotted pass the Robin Hood keeeper.
The Kirkby lads just keep ball really well playing fast football and next up Alfie with an absolute rasper from the left hand side - struck with venom across the keeper into the top right hand corner.
And just before half time natye had completed his hat-trick complimented
By G threading him the ball through the lines
Going into half with a healthy lead.

Second half - Robin Hood really struggled to get past any of the Kirkby defenders who stood tall with composure to keep playing the ball out from the back to kept the pressure onto the Robin Hood.
With the Robin Hood keeper pulling off great save after great save from the lads - natye put a precise cross for Freddie to head home from close range - like a young Duncan Ferguson

And with the game coming to a close a few positional changes Louie struck from a missed place pass from Robin Hood to get amongst the scorers and natye completing the game cold calm finish.

A real dominant display from the Kirkby lads who just looked faster and sharper than Robin Hood lads but credit to them they kept going to the end.

Lovely start for the lads and take some confidence going into next weeks game.

SUPER-REDS🔴 Vs Sherwood colliery cobras 🐍

Lovely morning and great facilities down at Sherwood to play football on with there new 4G pitches very little excuses not to play some good football on. ⚽️

Sherwood started the brighter and used there long ball goal kick very well getting the break threw quite early.
The lads started then to get the ball down and play some nice football - creating some good chances down the wings putting some great danger balls into the box but we just couldn’t get a good connect on.
Then Sherwood put together a nice passage of play down the wing cutting the ball back to score a second which was abit against the run of play which deflated the lads abit going into half - time from quite an even half.

Second half the lads regrouped and came out firing !!
With the bit between there teeth didn’t giving Sherwood no time to play and we started to move the ball about fast and started to
Mount the come back when Louie who was like a wall all game giving there striker nothing - hustled to win the ball deep - G firing it upto Jake who spun his defender on the half way line with ease to tread a lovely ball through to the bursting natye - who claimly slotted past the sherwood keeper.
The energy and confidence levels just sky rocketed and sherwood really struggled to touch the ball - shots started to rain in on the sherwood keeper Freddie cutting in from the left to force a quality save - Jake hitting the cross bar - G causing trouble everywhere getting a corner for nayte to put an inch perfect cross into captain Harry Ross to smash in from close range to level the game up.
All one way traffic because the defence was winning everything gave Lucas in net very to do accept a one scrabble - more time on clock I think the lads would gone onto compete the comeback.
But big credit goes to the sherwood keeper who made some great saves.

The scoreline in these friendlies are pretty much irrelevant but it’s the performance and the lads showed great character to come back into the game and never give up was the important aspect to take from the game.

The SUPER-REDS🔴🌑 are on the road away to local rivals Sherwood colliery outlaws this Sunday as they keep there confidence high looking towards next season.

Let’s gooooooo lads ⚽️🔴🌑

Been quiet for past few months the lads and team have been working hard on and off the pitch - had a brilliant trip to Filey tournament- plenty of laughs and bonding - just missing out in a semi final.

The lads finished the season mid table in there levelled up division 1 - gold

Learnt some valuable lessons some good and some bad but the team has been moving up levels consistently so the progression is there and that’s all us coaches like to see.

There has been some player departures and we would like to wish them all good luck as they continue there football journey 👊🏻

But new players are coming into the team and making it stronger than ever and today showed.

The SUPER REDS 🔴 was in action against premier team Eastwood eagles 🦅

Where the lads put on a fantastic show for all to see winning comfortably- playing some brilliant football ⚽️ and the best aspect of the game today was team ethos - defended together - worked in midfield together and attacked together 👊🏻

Another tough lesson for the lads yesterday.

We started the better team but Heanor scored against the run of play and we competed for the rest of the half going in at half time just behind.
Thanks to our keeper and defence.

Second half we started to show Heanor abit to much respect and really didn’t step on to them giving them to much time on ball plus we really struggled to do the basis things right and decision making.

Anything less than 100% effort and we are really learning the hard way in this new league and standard.
Do I think they was better than us - no - but did they out work us - yes on the day.

Back to the training ground and I believe that the lads can handle this standard of football and I’m sure they will keep training hard to reach it also.

The SUPER-REDS 🔴 looking for there first points in this tough division 1 GOLD league against a talented Heanor town ultras this Sunday ⚽️🔴🌑

Just a friendly today for the SUPER REDS 🔴 against local team Mansfield athletic

The pitch just passed a brief inspection this morning as it was cut up and frozen abit but definitely playable and I think both teams needed the minutes since Xmas the weather has put a damper on football.

I told the lads today I would be changing a few players positions and mixing it up abit and to try and enjoy the game with the pressure off from the league and cup.

Both teams found it hard to play really nice football first half - quite an even game with both teams having chances and Mansfield was the first to break the deadline with a good finish but on come Louie normally CB uptop with Jake normally striker playing CB who had a brill first half may I add - but Louie played a great assist for Alfie to finish to level thing up.

Second half - Mansfield just dropped off us abit but not through choice as we started to really play football - fast 1-2’s - recycling the ball - defence getting involved with attacks - playing down the wings where George and nayte started to homme in - where Charlieboy play a defense splitting pass for G to run composed onto on take the reds in front.
Then natye broke down the other side to cut the ball back for Fraiser to stroke the ball home and the football was flowing and for alfie to square the ball for Jake to slot home.

You could see the pressure was off with all the lads today - smiles and with all goals being assisted means great team mates to each other - really great to see 😎⚽️🔴🌑
