Last night I played in a local knockout comp at Phoenix, bo7 straight knockout.

In the first round I was drawn against Connor who I’d already been practising with for 5 hours prior to the tournament. I didn’t play my best against him and started off going 1-0 down before then winning 4 straight legs to win 4-1. I didn’t play my best however I did just enough to take the win.

Then in the second round I was against Ryan which is always a fun game. After winning the bull up, I opened the game strong with a 180 applying the pressure early and then took the first leg in 19 darts. In all 4 of the first legs, there’s was no break in throw and the score went to 2-2. After that point I missed crucial darts in the 5th and 6th leg which cost me the game 4-2. Throughout the whole game I played really well with high scoring and great set ups for shots at double, the final was 73 which I can’t complain at however it just wasn’t enough to get through to the next round

Another late post from Ilkeston Darts Singles League. On Wednesday I got a tough draw against Liam, who I knew I had to start off as strong as possible. I managed to take the first leg before then missing out on chances in the next few legs and finding myself 3-1 down. Another great leg from me took it to 3-2 meaning I was able to have a chance to settle for a draw, however in the final leg I had a few poor scores while Liam was scoring massively which ultimately cost me the game.

Belated post from super league on Sunday

After a long league wide break in super league, we made our return against Mastin Moore who we previously lost to. We managed to beat them comfortably winning 5-2 as a team.

In my game, I still wasn’t playing my best at all however I managed to win 4-1. I’m happy to get another win behind me reguardless of how I played and I also played better than the day before so there’s a sign of improvement there. I’m going to block out the negatives from the game and take away the positives going into tomorrow’s singles league.

Yesterday I played a youth comp which could’ve likely been my last. During the group stages I won 4 of my games and lost 2 playing far from my usual standard. Then into the knockouts I made it into the finals but unfortunately lost out after missing a few darts at double that cost me.

There’s not a lot to take from this but overall I’m quite disappointed with the way that I played however I did get to the finals regardless.

Local comp tonight in Ilkeston, it’s safe to say that the draw did not go in my favour. In the first round I was drawn against Adam Warner who is a current PDC tour card holder. Throughout the whole game Adam played unreal and applied the pressure early on with high scoring including his second first being a maximum, for most of the game I did a great job trailing behind him.

Unfortunately but without a surprise, Adam punished me any time I didn’t score big showing the reasons why he’s on the pro tour however I’m happy to have been on a finish for every time he checked out. I can also proudly say that I also won the bull up against him which I’ll take as a win. The final score was 4-0 to Adam.

It was also great hearing him talk to me after the game telling me to keep it up and that I’m a great player including him telling me that I got unlucky that most of my darts were thrown in the right area yet just on the right side of the wire.

I can’t complain at the result however onto tomorrow where I have a youth comp which could probably be my last ever.

Ilkeston Darts Singles League table update with 7 games remaining

I’m currently sitting at 14th out of 31 players in division one which I’m always happy with for my first season, hopefully by the end of the season the only place I move is upwards but we’ll see 🎯

Ilkeston Singles League last night and I had 2 games again to catch up with everybody else in the matches played.

In my first game I was full of inconsistency and really didn’t play well at all. The final score was a 4-2 loss which I’ll take considering the way that I played. My best leg was a 17 darter taking out 100 in 2 darts and my final average was 66.57.

In my second game I had Andy Houghton who is at the top of the league. I didn’t expect a lot to come from this game because of Andy’s standard. My final average was better than the last game however it’s still nowhere near enough to take any legs off him so the best I did was leave a double twice but not get a shot at them. The end score was 6-0 and my final average was 68.94
