"Nine times out of ten, the only fly line you’ll need is a floater- and the Cortland Line 444 is the benchmark for sheer consistency and ease of bite detection. The exception to this is early in the season or when conditions get very hot and fish retreat, in which case you may need a sinker..."

"I fish these flies with confidence just about everywhere. You know it’s a successful blueprint when the same breed of fly produces rainbows, browns, carp and even specimen rudd. Happy spider-ing!" D.G.

We're re-winding to a blog we think is super relevant AND interesting given the time of year and species potential!

Stalk those fish like a ninja with our 'coarse stalking', GRAB & GO FLY SELECTIONS!

With the current spell of warm weather up and down the country we've had lots of feedback from YOU- the angler, regarding fishing for your local stillwaters silver fish species!

It seems rudd and roach have been plentiful; enthusiastically taking small dries and emergers!

Perch have seemingly been darting from the safety of marginal cover to ambush weighted nymphs and buzzers...

..and carp, chub and even the occasional skimmer bream have been more than happy to engulf a tasty hopper off/just under the surface!

Fantastic!

KEEP THOSE PICCIS COMING - WHATEVER YOU CATCH!
