Our 2026/27 season kicks off this Saturday 5th September as we hit the road to face Ellis Athletic FC in our season opener.

📋 THE RULES ARE SET. THE STANDARD IS HIGH.
Ahead of this weekend’s season opener, the gaffer brought the players and staffs together for an important team meeting.
The message was clear: expectations, standards and accountability. 🗣️⚽️
Everyone knows their role. Everyone knows what’s expected. Now it’s time to put the words into action. 🔥
The season starts this weekend… and the hard work starts now.

We went there to learn how a club at this level operates… Frankie went there to collect interviews like she was working for Sky Sports. 🎤🤣

LEARNING FROM THOSE AHEAD OF US. 👀⚽️
With pre-season drawing to a close and the new season officially starting for Orpington Town FC next Saturday, the management decided to take the team away from the training ground for something a little different.
A team bonding session. A learning experience. And a chance to see first-hand what a well-established, family-orientated football club looks like behind the scenes.
A huge thank you to Welling United FC for welcoming us and allowing us to experience matchday at their home ground as they secured a 1–0 win over Ramsgate. 👏
A special thank you to Dave Kelly and Howard Prosser for making us feel so welcome throughout the day. People like Dave and Howard are a huge part of what keeps a football club like Welling United running so well. Their time, commitment and passion for the club are a real reminder that football clubs are built by people who care. ❤️
But what was the biggest takeaway for us?
We’ve still got a long way to go.
The day was a real eye-opener. It showed us just how much work goes into building a football club that people can be proud to call their own. On the pitch, off the pitch, and within the community.
We’re not going to pretend we’re there yet.
We’re miles off where we want to be. And that’s okay.
Because the ambition is there. The foundations are being built. And experience like this gives us another lesson, another idea and another reason to keep pushing forward.
The journey continues.
Next Saturday… the real work begins.
